Last year in 2013, aBlogtoWatch was there when Bulova announced that they would be the official watch sponsor and timekeeper of England’s Manchester United Football Club. At the time, there were no particular watches ready to show that honored the new relationship, but at Baselworld 2014 Bulova introduced the Manchester United Treble within their new Percheron collection.

I discussed a very special version of the Percheron with the 24k gold model here. Thankfully, Manchester United fans will not be required to spend $42,000 on watches with the logo of their favorite team. The Bulova Percheron Treble collection has three watches specially designed for the Bulova Manchester United relationship, and this ref. 63B195 is my favorite, with its steel case, matching brushed metal dial, and full two-tone Manchester United Logo on the dial.

Interestingly enough, while I am not usually a fan of third-party logos on the dials of watches, the Manchester United logo works here. Why? Well, without it, the watch would be monochromatic, and the added red and yellow colors brighten up the dial while allowing it to still remain serious looking. The Percheron case itself is 42mm wide, 13.5mm thick, and is matched to a black silicon strap.

If you don’t know what “Treble” in this context means, that is OK. I had to ask Manchester United myself. Basically it is a term that applies in British football when one club has earned all three of their major trophies at the same time. This occurred in 1999 when Manchester United won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League all at the same time.

The Swiss Made Bulova Percheron Treble is part of Bulova’s new “Accu Swiss” collection, which means it contains a Swiss movement. Inside the watch is what I believe is a Sellita SW200 automatic. The Percheron case in this execution looks its best, and I think it is an interesting sports watch that doesn’t have a lot of visual competition out there. At the very least, when someone is wearing a Bulova Percheron Treble, you’ll be able to know it from afar. This Bulova Accu Swiss Percheron Treble ref. 63B195 watch for Manchester United retails for $1,295. bulova.com
