Post Baselworld 2013, John and I take a closer look at the new offerings from Rolex and Tudor, as well as some interesting items from TAG Heuer such as the MikopendulumS watch that once again brings magnets (successfully) to a timepiece.

After Baselworld 2013 day 1 James, Mark, and myself sit around the kitchen table at the Basel apartment to recap on the day and discuss Rolex, Patek, and more from home base at watchpocalypse 2013.
A slew of cool watches are on the discussion plate. We investigate the Christophe Claret Kantharos, Zenith Pilot Annual Calendar, Ressence Type 3, and Swatch’s Swiss exclusive d’Schwizer watch (that is meant to be funny).
We just can’t stop talking about Cholex. In this episode we talk about what a “robot turd” watch really is, and how ambitious modern-designs mix with luxury well (and not so well).
How is it that we can love one unreasonably prices expensive watch while feeling something totally different for another? The unique emotions behind desiring the unnecessary comes into play as we discuss the HYT H2 watch as well as the Breva Genie 01. We also take a close look at the reader response to our recent Rolex Submariner watch review, as well as the pretty cool Antoine Martin Slow Runner and the Basis fitness watch.
Apparently this is the show about shameless self promotion. At least according to John. First I plug the limited edition straps I had Teenage Grandpa made for aBlogtoWatch readers (which a few more of you should buy before they run out). Then we talk about the YES watch you can win this month by entering here on aBlogtoWatch.
HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 131 – Depth Charges, Lasers, Robot Faces & Watches & Garbage Trucks & Cholex
We want to make the Cholex a reality! So if you have design submissions by all means send them in. You know you need a Cholex Supremo on your wrist. We also discuss John’s love/hate relationship with Vertu and the Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon 4.
John ponders what watches brands would want to place on characters in Downton Abbey, if that was even possible given the era. We also discuss the ludicrously priced new Richard Mille watches and the new Devon Tread 2 timepieces.
John is under the mistaken belief that I have a groupie when what I really have is loyal contributors. The line can blur of course. Inasmuch we talk about what it is like to cover SIHH as a blogger…
We talk turkey about SIHH 2013, some of the watches, a lot of the people. And what it is like as a watch blogger to be there. Oh, and more…
We are a bit late on posting this but this is a good episode where we discuss smart (or perhaps dumb) watches, and whether Apple will get in the biz. John uses his super tech knowledge to add some very insightful opinions.
BullToro! The name of a terrible looking watch brand and our new favorite word to say. “BullToro!” We also discuss the new version of the Cartier Crash watches, wearing the MB&F HM5, and more on watch winders (exciting!).
In this glorious episode we talk about the Girard-Perregaux Sea and Chrono Hawk launch at Art Basel, our picks for gifts and the holiday watch guide. As well what seems like a dozen other topics. Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 125 here. Download the MP3 here.
Best watches for the zombie apocalypse? We begin to discuss. Also some trouble with ultra expensive mobile phones, and a cool thing from Seiko. Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 124 here. Download the MP3.
John “Gant” get a break and we talk about my hands-on time with the Devon Tread 2 Steampunk watch. We also discuss Roger Dubuis’ new strange adverting campaign and giveaway, as well as the winners from the 2012 annual Grand Prix D’Horlogerie de Geneve watch awards.
We battle it out over the coolness or lameness of the Morgenwerk Satellite Precision watches. We then talk about the final versions of the HYT H1 hydromechanical watch, as well as the awesome new Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX 7 Chronograph. Then we try to understand and sum up the new watch brand by, and featuring his royal undeadness, Karl Lagerfeld.
