What do you get when you take the Bremont ALT1-C and HMS Victory watches and combine them together? Well the ALT1-C Gold (ALT1-C/RG) of course. Today we bring you a hands-on look at this British dress watch that is the Bremont’s first ever non-limited gold timepieces.

Bremont announced its latest limited edition piece, the Codebreaker. Much like the EP-120, the P-51, and last year’s Victory, this new model follows Bremont’s pattern of creating limited edition watches that are connected to famous military icons and often incorporate materials sourced from specific historic examples. The Codebreaker commemorates Bletchley Park’s involvement in World War II military intelligence.
Living in the UK and speaking to watch-lovers and people connected to the watch industry, conversations inevitably veer towards the phenomenon that is Bremont. Of note of course is the seemingly meteoric rise of the brand out of nowhere, and now, in its twelfth year in 2013, it has five main collections, a number of sold out limited editions, and legions of fans among celebrities and watch-lovers alike.
With April now upon us, we can expect a flood of pre-BaselWorld announcements as brands look to elbow their way into the spot light of the world-famous watch fair. Bremont, the British watch brand behind such recent hits as the Victory and the Supermarine S2000, have announced two new models including a blue version of their U-2 three-hander and a stealthy new chronograph called the ALT1-B2 GMT.
By now, it is of all likelihood that as an aBlogtoWatch reader, you are well acquainted with Bremont watches. This feisty English brand is the progeny of two brothers with a passion for aviation and a love of all things mechanical. Giles and Nick English launched Bremont a little over ten years ago and recently they completed a move to a new headquarters based in Henley, England. As with any watch brand…
Joking around with the ever-charming guys from Bremont I snapped some pictures of the limited edition HMS Victory timepiece. While still new to the watch game the guys at Bremont are quickly figuring out what it takes to be a major player in the industry
Bremont Watches has announced a limited edition version of the MBII pilots watch for the British retailer The Watch Gallery. This new model, the MBII/TWG, sports a very handsome midnight blue case barrel (the standard MBII model offers either green, orange, or grey) and has been fitted with a sapphire display back that is similar […]
I have mentioned in the past that I believe successful brands are those that stick to their core competencies and know their strengths just as well as they know their weaknesses. Bremont is a brand that has a firm grasp on their skills and, thanks to a focused but patient energy, they have been able […]
The biggest “cultural” difference between the Bremont Supermarine 500 and the Supermarine 2000 (aka S2000 – no, not like the Honda) is the little text at the bottom of the dial. The Supermarine replaces the old “Swiss Made” with simply “London.” Does that mean the S2000 is not Swiss made? No. Instead, it shows that […]
Not too much information right now but this is the upcoming limited edition Bremont HMS Victory limited edition watch. The classic looking chronograph will be produced in honor of the historic HMS Victory ship. The HMS Victory was originally built in the 18th century and is the oldest surviving warship from that era. The limited […]
For all intents and purpose this new Bremont ALT1-WT is the commercial version of the exclusive Bremont C-17 Globemaster watch that I discussed here. While the C-17 (C17) Globemaster was not to be available for public purchase, the ALT1-WT will be. The watch takes the brand’s signature aviator style and adds a world time bezel […]
There is a reason timepieces from brands like Rolex, Tag Heuer, and Omega consistently sell so well. They are legible, well built, and conservative. It is a simple formula which has done well for those outfitting “nice watches” to legions of men for ages…
Here is a nice new piece from Bremont that you can’t get. Bremont will produce these C17 Globemaster watches for a select group of “pre-selected” military personnel to get one – basically for one squadron as I understand it. The pieces will be highly limited as well. Each Bremont C17 Globemaster will be limited to […]
There was a relative I had when I was a kid who saved up for years to buy something special. He was an unusual fellow, but he loved to fly. He worked hard to get a pilot’s license and then was finally able to buy what he had his eye on… a World War 2 […]
Check out the first working version of Bremont’s highly anticipated Marine Clock (model B-1). While this still an unfinished prototype, we can see just how close to the concept Bremont was actually able to make the clock look in reality. There are still some things to complete. For example this version doesn’t yet have working […]
It was love at first sight with the Supermarine 500. That doesn’t happen too often with watches…
