GIVEAWAY: Yes Inca Watch

GIVEAWAY: Yes Inca Watch

YES INCA GIVEAWAY

YES watches - based out of California - produce some of the most functionally interesting timepieces around. The company is decidedly boutique and produces a range of astronomical calendar watches with real utility for a lot of different types of people. Scientists, photographers, movie makers, and others find these watches to be indispensable tools. Understanding how these timepieces work is only a challenge until you figure out what the dial means. After that you come to appreciate the clever display of time and data that is unlike anything else. I've owned a Yes timepiece for about 7 years now and have yet to see anything quite like it.

The YES Inca is one of the brand's flagship timepieces and is available in steel or titanium in a few styles. Here is your chance to win one. The watch case is 48mm wide with a style that mixes classic with "digital." Allow me to explain the dial. The single analog hand is a 24 hour hand showing the time. You have a digital time read out as well for a more precise reading. The reason the analog hand is important is that it works in collaboration wit the pie-chart style dial that shows you sunrise and sunset times. Using the hand you can visually see how much light you have left or when the sun will come up. The watch takes into consideration both the calendar information and your location to display these sunrise and sunset times. This merely scratches the surface of the astrological information the watch provides - most important doing so in an easy to understand and intuitive manner. This is a very cool niche watch and we are delighted to offer this YES Inca timepiece giveaway on aBlogtoWatch. The winner will receive a YES Inca 203.4 model, but an alternative version may be available should the winner prefer a different Yes Inca model. yeswatch.com

Hi guys. The functionality of such a watch would be super useful for me because I travel around Southeast Asia a great deal for work. Being a tropical region, there are lots of mosquitos. And mosquitos are most active around dawn & dusk. The Yes Inca would let me know just how much time I have remaining before dusk (or dawn if I’m partying) and thus inform me to either seek mosquito repellant or shelter!

  • utopian

Love the Inca watches. One situation it will be very useful to me is when I go mountain hiking, where I can use it to show how much time I have left before the sun sets.

  • Gianko

Hello guys you know for me would be really useful as I’m working on board of petrol platform off shore so it will be really a good tolls to know how many hours of daylight you still have ! I can schedule the most dangerous jobs before the sun go down if I know exactly the sunrise and sunset time !

Hi, guys. I would use this watch to keep tabs as to how often I get away from my desk and see some daylight, and making sure there’s enough daylight left for me to enjoy!

So much info in such a tight amount of real estate. Looks wonderful!

I don’t usually go in for non-mechanical watches, although coincidentally I am wearing my one purely digital watch today, a quadtec. Anyway, I absolutely love 24 hour watches, although I only have Russian ones so far, and knowing the dawn and dusk times would definitely be useful as the length of the day varies so much throughout the year and I never know if it’s going to be light enough to go out for a run after work. The simple answer at this time of year of course is no. Such a feature is always useful when you’re outdoors though and such a unique display like this is always cool.

I work in a building without windows and it is often a surprise to me when the sun is either up or down when I leave in the evening. And since this changes during the year, having a watch which lets me know the sunset time before I head out would be most cool. I really like that the watch knows about over 500 locations worldwide and additionally can be set for lat/long in other places. What a great watch for vacations aboard! This one of the few electronic watches (over $100) that I would consider buying. Thanks Ariel, I had never heard of this brand.

I do a lot of low light photography and accurate timing is essential to me

  • nateb123

These are basically stripped-down versions of the Protrek displays right?  Same dot matrix numbers and digital “slivers” to show when its dark.  Love the functionality but find the display out of place.  Cool idea though and I’ve been waiting to see if someone can make a mechanical sunrise/sunset dial complication for a while now.  Could be the closest anyone ever gets.

For those of us who work in medicine, we often attribute a high influx of difficult or extremely complicated patients to the presence of a full moon.  While actual scientific studies have dispelled this as being a superstition, anecdotally I’ve noticed that my call nights are much worse when there is a full moon out than when there isn’t.  I think having a watch with accurate moon phase information would help me better predict when I’m going to be absolutely crushed on call.

I ride my bicycle to work every day; In the winter I have to keep an eye on when the sun sets while I’m at work, so I don’t end up having to ride home in the dark. There are no street lights on my route home, so it’s pretty important for me. Having a watch that automatically told me when the sun set with an alarm would be incredibly useful.

Hmmm, I live in Northern Canada so we experience both 24 hour sunlight and close to times with 20 hours of darkness, so a time piece such as this would be handy in determining if the sun is usually up by now or if I still have time for more shut eye.

I really enjoy reading all of your reviews. Most of the watches are out of my price range, but it’s really cool to see what’s out there. My wife and I take a lot of cruises, and do a lot of self excursions, so I’m sure the wonderful Yes watch would really come in handy. Thank you very much for all of the great reviews, I hope you keep up the great work, as I’m sure it is difficult work! Once again thanks for all of your hard work!

Nature’s Time Keeper World Watch is perfect for me, for several good reasons.
I am a Private Pilot who flies his plane regularly.  Pilots must report their position
and altitude to the FAA as well as the time in UTC time.  UTC time is 8 hours
different from Pacific Time.  We must stop in the middle of watching for traffic,
checking our instruments to do the math.   It’s much more safe and accurate to
simply glance at the UTC or Military time to give a report.
Further, many times I take a passenger to a distant city for a visit, but may not
be current for night flight.  Therefore I must get back before sunset.
Therefore knowing the exact time of local sunset may be critically important
for safety and legality of flying.
The world watch is perfect for me as a pilot, and I want to buy one even if
    I do not win.

Would I like to own this watch, you ask? One word: “YES!”
Wearing this watch while camping/hiking would be an awesome experience. A watch this sophisticated may not help someone who is trying to “rough it”, but it would be awesome to know you had so much information on your wrist if you ever needed it in an emergency situation, or maybe just to show off :)
I haven’t been this impressed by a non-mechanical watch in a really long time. Great work, YES!

Hello Ariel/ABTW!I have been a fan of YES (The watch, not the group),
for years and have not had the chance to secure one, despite being on their
    Holiday discount list.
    Being able to see
the passage of time in an organic fashion, is something new to me, and would be indispensable.  As I prepare for another trip (just returned from Arizona with some nice photography for the Seiko Astron GPS watch), headed off to the Mayan Riviera this September 2013, and then to the
northeast region of the Caribbean would prove to be some
beautiful photo ops for this fine watch.
I have spoken with the team at Yes out in California before, what a
friendly and cool group of people (we had discussed ‘software’ upgrades to the
watch when regions change DST standards).I WOULD LOVE TO OWN this watch, and would return the nice gesture by
some remarkable reviews/pictures around the globe!

I’m a photographer, and I take a lot of pictures at the so called “golden hour” which is right before sunset. A watch with a sunrise and sunset indication would be awesome!

Very nice sunset/sunrise funtions, and like having the 24hr Bezel so it can be sunny-side up!  Very useful for light aircraft flying at Dusk and Dawn, and I hope functions for star-gazing.

Knowing the sunrise/sunset times accurately is very helpful in a variety of outdoor activities: camping, hiking, etc.

  • craqus

I love the ambition of this watch!  I travel between the lower 48 and alaska, this would be very helpful for me in trying to figure out the sunrise/sunset north of anchorage where I’m always confused about how much time I have left in daylight.

  • MichaelVelardo

Great watch. Like the functional way the sunset and sunrise feature works since that is when I take most of my photos.

I would use the Yes watch for stargazing and boating, both of which require accurate information regarding light and darkness, specifically how dark it will be on a particular night.

  • eitan

I usually prefer boutique watches like that watch  because of these  doing  some really interesting and unique things.

  • bartmanhi

I can see the watch being very useful in providing sunrise/sunset times, as well as settling arguments with my wife about the moon phase.  Other moon-related cycles as well would be immediately at hand.

  • propergation

I’m always out on the beach, surf fishing on Martha’s Vineyard. The Moon phase would help me catch more fish, not to mention, the cool design. I also like the ability to read this incredible watch at night.

  • JJThomas1

I love the design and function of the new Yes Inca Zulu 4.0 watch. As a hobby I do night photography, This will be a great addition to my photo gear as it not only determines the moon phase (Intensity of the light) as its rise time and position in the sky. What a photographers delight. It has always been difficult keeping up with this information using tide charts, and GPS. What a Godsend !   Chech it out at yeswatch.com                                           !

Georgeous watch! This would be perfect when I am laying in bed all day and need to know how much sunlight is left so I can motivate myself to get up and go outside so as not to waste the day:)

I would love to try out the astronomical features of this watch! Moonset is a particularly important one. Also, I’d like to have sunrise and sunset on my wrist at a glance, not because it’s necessary but because I like that kind of stuff.

Being an avid traveler the time functions for multiple cities would be of great use.

  • phredless

A couple situations I can see really wanting this in.  I occasionally star-gaze and know local sunrise/sunset and moonphase without consulting tables would just be great.  Great for hiking too so you know how much daylight is left.  Beautiful design, one of the few digital watches I would wear.

  • felixneo

Interesting watch and it should be very helpful in a vacation.

  • http://flavio.ca flavtron

Love this watch! It would be awesome when you’re at the beach to know when the sun will set.

A YES watch would prove really useful by alerting me to the arrival of

  • PaulHeuer

A very cool watch, both visually and functionally. Having the sunset time on my wrist at a glance would settle plenty of parent/kid arguments in our house. Instead of the old “be home by sunset”, I can give a time to be home at a glance. It would also be great for timing that ‘just after sunrise’ golden hour of fishing. Thanks ABTW for covering another interesting watch.

Oh my, what a beautiful watch. The learning curve thrills me just thinking about it. Can’t wait to use it on one of those 5 mile walks in the woods i like. Thanks for sharing it with us~!

  • TimelyOne

    I love this watch!!
Knowing how much daylight is left, or viewing the moon phase without opening an App…how cool is that? I avoid certain co-workers during a full moon…this watch could be a life saver. Knowing in advance when the two daily ‘Golden Hours’ begin is a timeless gift that should make anyone stop and enjoy the view.

  • Oelholm

I hunt regularly and in my country it’s only allowed between sunrise and -set, so actually a quite useful addition, if it proves acurate – would love to find out!

  • jjrock

I think that the YES Inca Watch would be very helpful to anyone that enjoys fishing. Keeping informed of Sunrise and Sunsets and Moon phases are very important to the serious fisherman.

  • pmspice

As a seafarer, this would be an great asset in my daily work, without having to revert to the nautical almanac to gather information re sunrise and sunset times plus it’s good looks would be a bonus.

  • imachucas

As a conversation piece, the look of a yes watch is going to draw a lot of attention .

  • rob66778

It’s a nice looking and stylish watch.  I can see where having sunrise/sunset info could be very useful when hiking or camping.  I also see it’s usefulness when sailing or fishing, but those aren’t as common for me.  Moon phase is useful as well, particularly knowing when not to expect nighttime ambient light to be there.

Thanks again for another great opportunity to see n read about unusual wristwatches that are not commonly seen or known.
This watch has the benefit of being able to provide you with sunrise and sunset which can be particularly helpful when planning outdoor activities, as one might do on camping trips, where daylight timeframe can be a plus.

  • stevej2001

Interesting watch! I’m an amateur photographer, so the time of sunrise and -set is of great interest, since that’s when the light is best.

  • watchguy

This is a very neat watch that I would love to wear.  Excellent for traveling.  Great aid for landscape photography.  Uses are endless.

  • Brianpemberton

Of course there are many practical uses for knowing when the sun and moon might rise or fall. But I like the idea that this watch act as a daily reminder that as the day ends in your location, a new day will dawn somewhere else with all the possibilities that will bring us. YES – Time is precious.

While I’m more the mechanical animal the Yes watch is a convincing tool for wearing quartz to access features that even if they could be pulled off mechanically would be prohibitively expensive to do so. Main use would be for photography in areas away from my usual timezone.

After my plane crashed on an island, in the middle of Pacific Ocean, I was heading north, to reach the shore when I saw a little cabin by the shore, with some smoke coming out the chimney. Another person was trying to survive here! Friend ? Enemy?
Carefully, I had a look inside and saw a really pretty blond woman cooking some fish with coconut milk. I said “Hellooo” and it was wonderful to see her smiling.
She had arrived a couple of months ago, after a shipwreck, and had no idea where she was.
Thanks to my YES watch, I was able to triangulate the position. To thank me, she offered me tea at precisely 5 o’clock (thanks again to my YES watch). What happened next… well, you know… I cannot tell.
We are still living on that island, and it’s always nice to hear some news from the outside world…

  • Niepceron

Could be an everyday live saver for people, like me, with a very bad vision at night : it’s usually difficult to decide to leave early enough (family, work) to drive with daylight, when it is not already too late.
Conversely, an alarm for day and/or night should also be useful (or delay before day/night arrival) : a way to deal with the seasonal changes, or for people who spent part of the day apart from sun light.

I work in a small office with no windows. You have no idea how many times I come out of the office only to find that the sun has set without me knowing. It’s a very jarring sensation and I believe a watch like this would help stop that.

  • Jed S

I love mountain biking and some of the trails are quite long and take a while to get to. This would let me know when to turn back so i am not caught in the dark while doing jumps and generally mountain biking.

  • JonnyD

Especially during the winter, I like to know how much sunlight is left, makes you appreciate it before the darkness quickly descends.  Plus, the Yes has a moon phase indicator. A complication I love but could never afford in a mechanical.

  • iDolo

For when I go sailing, I need to prepare specially for sunset, now I check on my iphone, but with this watch, I can have an idea at a glance.

I love the Yes watches, especially their digital component.  They are a good size and invaluable to one who wears watches 24 hours a day–except in the shower and the pool, and who needs a clear display.

  • Ron Carter

We travel to our second home in Baja, and while traveling in Baja it is not good to be on the road at night for many reasons. The locals relate to Negro Vaca (black cows) in particular, and cows as well as all forms of wild life wander onto the roads at night due to the roads retaining heat and needless to say it is dangerous. A watch that includes sunrise and set is unique as well as very useful. We enjoy fishing too and that requires an early start, and being on the water as the sun comes up, I can see nothing but advantages to fashionable timepiece that easily includes this important information.

  • Rilape70lk

The sunrise sunset function is great for fly flyshing

  • leicaman

It would help me time my bike rides so I don’t get stuck in the dark! Cool watch!

Wow! At first I thought it was the latest Casio Pathfinder. How much wronger could I have been? Though obviously I’m thinking in the right direction and if only it were true. Moonphase, Sunrise, Sunset, Tides … and all the ABC goodness would have been too good to be true . The good news is that the Yes, ‘Inca’ possesses a drop dead gorgeous design that screams “Timepiece Materialization of Maria Sharapova”. I’d certainly love to see her as Brand Ambassador for Yes Watches some day. Pathfinder indeed 😉 Sorry for my mistake ladies & gents.

WHAT A WATCH!   TIMES FOR SUNRISE-SUNSET, MOONRISE-MOONSET, LUNAR PHASE AND HOURS MINUTES AND SECONDS FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE.  VERY PRACTICAL WATCH AND I JUST SCRATCHED THE SURFACE OF THE FUNCTIONS IT HAS.  FOR ME PERSONALLY, THE CALENDER AND INPUT DATES WOULD BE VERY IMPORTANT.  ALL THIS UNDER ONE WELL DESIGNED AND DISTINCTIVE LOOKING WATCH!

The function of this watch would be when I will be hiking the Colorado Trail this coming summer. You can’t always rely on the weather and when the sun isn’t visible due to cloud cover, I would want to look at this beauty to tell me what I can’t see.

  • DanFrost

First, I would use this watch as an
accessory to looking sharp. Then we can talk boating, hiking, traveling, stargazing,

This watch is awesome.  I go camping a lot and this watch would be great for knowing how much light is left in the day to take care of all the last minute things that have to get done.  I think this watch is also useful for hiking in knowing how much daylight is left in case you get lost or something like that.

  • SimeonWeinraub

One of the camera men I work with has one of these Yes Watches, and it has proven to be very useful when shooting on location. I really should get one of these watches. I just didn’t know what the brand was, or where to find them.

  • tt7970

When scheduling filming the moon, the moon rise and moon phase functions would be very useful.

  • gychenucla

the operating room as it has no windows to see the sun

  • AntonisSampson

it would be useful to see the moon phases so i will know when to make the best pictures of is as i am a photografer

  • lomarti

I would use it to piss off the clerk at my local liquor store who berates me about all my G/Shock watches. He just does not get it!

  • ZL

I have decided not to enter this month’s giveaway, despite that I always like getting free stuff. At 48mm, the YES watch is just too big for my narrow wrist, although I do really like the daylight function. I feel that it would be slightly dishonest, or unfair to others, or something, if I won a watch that I probably wouldn’t wear. Also, I feel it would decrease the probability of winning one I really wanted later, though I’m not sure if that’s mathematically accurate. So I will only be entering the giveaways that I really want. These are my thoughts on the subject.

  • srivatsanms

I always like watches with Combination of Digital / Analog mechanism. This watch i think would be useful for performing relegious rituals that depends on sunrise / sunset timings.

  • jpangos

I love the concept of this watch! I do a lot of diving and certain animals only come out at certain times of the day, month or year. This would be a great watch for me as the features would really help me plan the timing of my dives, crucial when you only have a small window of opportunity!

The YES Inca would be invaluable to me on many features.  1) The fact that I know how much day light & night light is important to me, as one of the many hobbies that I do, photography is one of them, knowing where and when I’ll be, how much light, I can prepare for a proper photo shoot 2) I’m Jewish, and knowing when Sunset is on any given day – super helpful! . 3) I am a follower of the four seasons, the Equinox has great meaning to me.  As a Freemason, I was raised on June 20th, and it’s always nice to see the watch do it’s EQUINOX alarm, the way the whole LCD reacts, it’s just wonderful.  4) I have friends in Israel & Turkey, it’s always good to know what the day/night is and how much light/night & moon they’re looking at.  5) How the Inca looks, with the Sun & Moon stones placed at the 12 & 6 o’clock positions adds such a classy look. 6) The 24 hour sweeping hand, looks wonderful and it’s easy to figure out different time zones with it. 7) The back-light option always adds a feature that makes this overall a classy watch.  Looks amazing at any musical-gig.  The light doubles (for me) as a low-lumen for reading maps, walking in the dark (emergency situations), etc. 8) 9) As a fan of the Steampunk Movement, the Yes Inca watch reminds me of some futuristic device left in the present, it’s such a unique watch I love the design of it.  Honestly IT’S JUST A SEXY WATCH!  There’s my reasons why I’d love to have an Inca Yes Watch.

  • wajih

sunset sunrise option would definelty come handy  when goping for hiking.

  • Sergio Magos

This Inca watch is awesome. It has various utilitarian functions. The battery reserve and the sonar bezel are exceptional functions. This watch has all the bells & whistles. Most importantly it is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Thank you Yes Watches for the opportunity to win this gorgeous watch.

  • SeanDJ

Great colour combination with the gold and blue combo. The features would be very useful when travelling world wide on business especially when moving between various latitudes. It’s very valuable to understand your sunlight timeframe when in cities for the first time.

  • Mheusler

This is a beautiful watch. I’d love to wear this.

  • MichelDaoust

Pretty handy and cool to know exactly when the sun will set when camping (no computer or smartphone) to catch that perfect picture of the sunset.
    Nice looking watch to boot.

  • http://www.skipit.com/ showtunes

I just found the ABTW blog. So glad I found it. Wish I could subscribe to your podcast on iTunes…. or maybe I can and I can’t find it.

  • WhichWatch

I love the Inca. Interesting and cool design. I travel a lot… A LOT and I’m a keen photographer. Lighting for photography is critical – there is the famous “magic hour” immediately after sunrise and before sunset. Obviously the timing varies a lot depending where you are in the world and what time of year it is. Having a watch that tells ideal shooting times would be is super helpful – this is the only watch that I know of that would be an ideal companion to photographers.

  • Nuno

Can´t tell how it would be usefull for me… Can’t tell if i would want one of those.

  • Sarfa

Cool watch! It would definitely come in handy when trying to watch the exact moment of sunrise at Stonehenge on the Summer solstice or see the serpent appear at Chichen Itza during the equinoxes.

  • socabaptist

Definitely would be useful to me. I do a lot of landscape photography, this watch would be excellent for me! I am using a sun compass to give me sunrise and sunset times. As any landscape photographer will tell you the best times to photograph landscapes is at sun rise and sunset. This watch would tell me when to get into position to catch the “magic hour” that the landscapes look their best! It would save a lot of charts, diagrams and internet research. I don’t want it – I need it! It does look like a really great tool – why have I not heard about these watches before?

  • GabrielBB

Gorgeous watch ! Its unique features can help me a lot in my work. me and my team, we are working directly in the field in agricultural claims, and knowing how many hours of sun we have till the sun goes down could be really useful in loss adjustments.
Thanks Ariel for this great giveaway.

    Very interesting piece!

  • GonzoSamaniego

YES seems to be quite a thinking-outside-the-box firm. You might like this watch or hate it (personally I like it a lot), but you definitely cannot ignore it.

  • FerdinandAngeles

The sunrise and sunset times function. Useful when we go camping. Gives me the information if its time to light the bonfire before it gets dark :-)

  • RayeAng

Definitely its alarm function and its moonphase function. Alarm to wake me up and moonphase cos of my astronomical craze.

Awesome watch and fantastic concept.  Obviously would be great for photography to show how much sunlight I have left, but also would be useful for my fishing trips

  • JuleneFisher

This is such a cool watch… My husband and I sail and it would be a really nice feature to know -wherever we are- how much daylight we have left! Besides, it is so stylish-it would look so handsome on him!

  • joel f

I am so impressed by this watch and its capabilities!  I track and photograph wildlife, and having a tool – an exceptionally good looking and unique tool – to help take best advantage of dawn, dusk, lunar phases and other indicators of prime times, would be awesome.  Awesome. Really awesome!

  • mrkauffman

This is a very cool watch that will help me figure out if the sun is actually up on the long rainy winter days in Seattle.

  • mikeymusic

I need something wild but still tells the time. This is it

  • DonECady

This is definitely one wicked watch that would make any recipient the envy of all their friends, and come on let’s be real that always a plus! Seriously though my hobby is photography and there is this short amount of space around dusk when I like to take pictures the most, with just a little light play here or there on different subjects and it’s always a race for me when that moment is just right, with this watch. I’d know precisely when my moments took place and it would allow me extra time b/c I almost always waste a little time watching and waiting for that exact perfect time. Thanks

Cooped up inside the laboratory all day, a Yes Watch would be great help in making me realize how many meals I have missed. “Gosh, I last ate twelve (12) hours ago!” And after days of working stuck in the lab with my lovely assistant, we finally finish with the project and so I can invite her to watch the sunrise with me (or watch the sunset with me.. it really depends on how early/ late we finish work during that fateful day).

  • GoGoJackson

Love the watch! And I would love to say that I have some preconception about how I would use it, but I think I would mostly show it off and stare at it! Awesome stuff.

  • MY TIME

    Beside
the fact that The YES looks great, it
will really help me with my business trips
, traveling around and “jumping” form one continent to the other.
I will really appreciate having ONE

  • jozz

YES looks super futuristic enough for my everyday use.

  • Steve Poorman

My kids have just started getting into astronomy.  And being far more techincally advanced that I was at their age they love any kind of gadget or app (love google sky) that provides insight and knowledge into their new found hobby.  Since practically every feature on this watch would come in hand I’m hard pressed to find one that would be more useful that the other but I’ll say sunset would come in handy to know when we can start getting ready to head out to gaze at the night sky.

  • JoshCarlson

I’ve always loved YES watches. This thing looks great. *crosses fingers*

  • http://www.sfu.ca/personal/budra/ budra

    Dear Ablogtowatch:

As a werewolf (who happens to be married to a vampire), I think the striking Yes Inca Watch would not only look great on my paw, uh, wrist, but would be a huge aid in organizing my astronomically challenged family. I, of course, could use the lunar function to keep track of my monthly transformations. Never again would I miscalculate and inconvenience my fellow passengers on a transatlantic flight. And the sunlight dial would allow me to warn my beautiful undead wife of an impending sunrise that could reduce her to a heap of smoldering cinders and totally ruin our date night.  I won’t go into the logistics of dealing with two children, one of whom is a were-pire and the other a vamp-wolf, but suffice to say we face more challenges than just getting the kids to soccer practice on time. The Yes Inca Watch would be the ultimate personal (non-edible) assistant for my unique family.

    • jchovanjr

  • romeowood

Amazing watch! As a fisherman / farmer / filmmaker / photographer, the quick balance style display for the day to night ratio would be invaluable. Truly a refreshing take and a unique concept in timepieces.

  • radentze

    Dear Ablogtowatch,
this is quite unique and beautiful concept of a timepiece. It would be perfect to use it as a frequent business traveler and as opposed to Maya prediction, Inca is meant to last. Yes, that would be the perfect amulet for a new era.

  • Cmartin26

Amazing watch! I love the styling of it.

  • veryhappybananas

    very cool locking

  • MaxKeetman

Perhaps not the most aesthetically pleasing watch to see in my honest opinion, but definitely something you don’t see everyday. Yes watches are most definitely watches I’m going to keep my eyes on for a future purchase.

  • jchovanjr

Knowing how much more time I have to run away from the vampires before the safety of the sun protects me would be invaluable….unless, of course, vampires sparkle in the sunlight and don’t turn to ash…..hmmmmmm. I’d take the risk for that watch, though.

  • amorbavian

I can imagine this watch being useful on one of my hiking or biking trips as it has a way of showing when the sun sets. Always good to know when you should be home. :)

  • abdelbaset

I longed for this amazing watch for quite a long time. Only deterrent for buying itcwas the hefty price tag.

  • rustyrussell

I like to travel and being able to see at a glance how long till sunset would be fantastic, especially for taking photos with good lighting.

  • HleanneH

I’d love to use the sunrise/sunset feature when doing watersports behind our boat, because the law states it’s only legal from one hour before sunrise, to one hour after sunset. This watch would ensure no laws would be broken on my part!
    h.leanne.h@gmail.com

  • RHF

All the preset city times available would make this timepiece perfect to keep track of all my mistresses.

  • jimley815

The functionality of a Yes watch would come in handy with the military.  Often we’ll perform “Stand to’s” which take place just prior to sunrise.  If you know how much time you have before sunrise, you can calculate what time to begin the stand to, how long it will last, as well as when to end.  I would find this watch very useful, as well as stylish.  A great conversation piece I would love to win.

  • AnaStarhanThomas

I work a lot with photography and love to travel. It would be amazing both for work and leisure time to know how long have I got until sunset and be able to fully enjoy my days.

  • turboman2010

Not only is the attention to detail beautiful… (the gold/black triangle pattern on the crown is really nice), but the backlight feature and digital readout would really help me see the dial…!!!

  • BillyC

It will be really useful for my hiking trips.

  • YazanAljarrah

    nice

  • jubhaight

This watch would be super handy on one of my hikes, mostly because of the daylight feature. It’d be great to know exactly how long I have left to set up camp for the night!
    jub.haight@gmail.com

  • YazanAljarrah

nice and amazing watch and i hope to win  it

  • fearlessleader

This yes watch would be very useful when needing something to read since I expect that the user’s manual is several hundred pages long… or when I need to know sunrise, sunset, low tide, the time in two different timezones, the cycle of the moon, and… what else?    In other words: This watch seems to have so many functions that I’ve got to win it just to figure it all out.

  • kjpIII

The best part of this watch for me is how easily the this watch adjusts to local time, that is where I think its best functionality would come into play for me. It is also just an interesting piece for any watch collection

  • roberth67

I’d love the YES inca watch to wear while traveling. I travel a lot to exotic places to film and take photos of, and it would be incredibly handy to instantly know what time it is when I arrive. I could also precisely capture the magic hour (solar high noon) with this watch on my wrist. robh.photography@gmail.com

  • taylor883

when trying to guess the wax or the waning of the current moon and have a hundred on the outcome this watch would prove invaluable

  • ripshop

If I ever buy a farm this I’ll crush it with this watch!

  • raditzer

ah when trying to plan a moonlit proposal!  Not that I’m trying to do that, but what fun would that be!

  • mrpong

This is the watch I’ve been waiting for! I work part-time in the Republic of the Marshal Islands (RMI), which is located in the South Pacific, in the Federated States of Micronesia. The work we do here is classified, but I am able to tell you it is in support of Missile Launch Operations, as part of what used to be called the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI), more commonly known as “Starwars”. The United States leases a small group of islands from the RMI to conduct Missile Defense Operations. As such, we place ourselves (artificially) east of the International Dateline, to make it easier to do business with our companies stateside. This watch would really help me keep track of “real world” time, local island time and ”stateside” time.
Also, because we are on an island, I engage in two of my favorite pastimes; fishing and diving. This watch would assist me with both. For fishing and diving, it is essential to know when the high and low tides are. The moonphase functions on the watch is perfect for calculating both. In addition, the lume on the dial would be great for diving.

  • sam4

I am  a photographer in Northern California. Allot of my work has to do with scenery involving sunset/sunrise so the sunset/sunrise feature would be perfect! I also travel allot for work so the timezone function would be used all the time. My family and I do allot of water sports, so since I plan our time on and off the water this would work perfect. I need to show this watch to my friends and colleagues as  we share the same interests and this watch is right up our alley.

  • scurry

This summer, I would like to go to Norway on holliday. I will try to go as north as possible. This Yes Inca watch will help me with the ‘day and night’ problems because over there, the sun will shine 24hours a day! So I’m curious what this beautiful and interesting watch will tell me…

  • yorick123

This watch will come in handy when I need to know the time.

  • Matanany

Am a design student and found this watch highly inspiring!

  • Sunnymay

This watch belongs in a movie since it’s so good.  I love knowing when the sun rises and when it will set and feel a whole lot more productive when the light’s around.  Having the moon superimposed on the sun on the 24 hour hand is unique.

I would stop wearing my Rolex and wear this one instead. That is how cool I think it looks. Plus my wife always asks if it is a full moon, now I will be able to tell her to get a watch.

  • Jacquess

Telling the time is the obvious function, but apart from that the only thing I’ll need to use is changing timezones when traveling. The real benefit is that it’d be my personal wrist mounted nerd-out device for checking things that are completely irrelevant yet infinitely interesting to me.

  • DanielCabalRamirez

Not a fan of ana-digi types, but i’d sure give this one a try!

  • WilliamGillett

I guess the main ways I’d use this would be when I’m working outside it’d be great to know how much time I’d have left to know what projects I could/couldn’t start. But also being able to bisect the pie chart to work out peak sunshine hours would be a definite nerd point.
Also I’m a huge fan of single handed 24 hr watches, a very simple intuitive display system.

  • http://www.davidmacdonaldmedia.com/ David Macdonald

As a filmmaker and an avid cyclist, this watch would be perfect for sunrise and sunset times.  I find myself wanting to ride after work and would like to know whether I have the time to ride in daylight or not.  Also, as a filmmaker, the magic hour is essential to getting even, soft lighting, so knowing those timeframes would be incredible.

  • Torben754

For project work and golfing would be a great timepiece – especially for twilight rounds!

  • RyotaroIshikawa

Ive been eyeing these unique watches for years.  This would be a huge help for photography.  Great combination of features that would help a traveller as well.

  • azrml

Very cool and unique watch.  Would be perfect for photography.  The two best times for shooting would be real handy!

  • Loch

Excellent watch, We bike the Going to the Sun Highway(Glacier Park, Montana)  at night, during the full moon.  The  Yes watch would be perfect for timing the ride exactly as the Moon hits the beautiful, reflective granite peaks.

  • FelixLew

beautiful single handed watch , i love it !!!

  • Bucky Katt

Probably the most practical use would be for photography, i.e. figuring out how much daylight you have left.  This is nothing that you can’t really do now, just eyeballing things, but still, sometimes it’s nice to be able to put numbers to your guesstimates of remaining daylight.

  • veryhappybananas

  • http://watchestowear.blogspot.com ryvius777

Unique watch. Should be ideal for any activity where daylight is an important factor. Photography springs to mind.

  • JamesAinge

As an underwater photographer the Moon phases and sunset times would be of value as the activity of some marine life at night differs with the phases of the moon. I could better plan my night dives and lens choices based on the expected activity. The addition of the tides would be helpful to determine tidal currents.

  • aidandunnill

Amazingly compact way to display so much information. As an elite rower, the daylight hours and sunrise/set features will be incredibly  practical and convenient for training in the early morning and evening.

  • ThomasTJ

I would use it to read the time mostly..

  • BK1017

I would probably use this for photography stuff and also just general info to display my nerdiness to friends.

  • manuelz

Knowing sunrise and sunset times helps when out fishing

  • DavidRainey

What a beautiful watch.  My friends and I do a lot of hiking, sometimes at night.  This watch would be very helpful letting me know the lunar phases.  It’s a lot easier hiking at night when there is a lot of moonlight.  I am curious about something.  Yes is a California based company.  Where do they source their parts from?  Is the movement manufactured in house, is it Swiss, etc.   I couldn’t locate that information on their website.  Whatever the case may be, it is a stunning watch I would be proud to own.

A few years ago I was hiking Great North Mountain in West Virginia. One particular part of the trail was much rougher than I had expected, and I found myself at sunset not yet back to base. The Yes watch would have forewarned me, in an at-a-glance way, of the time of sunset and that there would be no moon to light my way. Soon it became pitch dark. Fortunately I had a flashlight with me, but getting back was still not easy.

  • Jamesluvstara

hmmm lets see, first off thanks for the site I was looking at buying a watch off ebay but after looking at a real one on your site I avoided a bad buy.  thanks 4845 times lol I like the watch so obviously i would use it first and formost to tell what time it is. As i am absent minded and ofter get lost I could use it to find my way home around dinner time and keep my wife from flaying me horribly and torturing me for not coming home. I could tell when sunset and sunrise is exactly during hunting season and never be out of the rules. As an amatuer astronomer I can use it for that hobby as well as photography. But most importantly and to be honest as I can the watch is just really really cool. Lets be real I have a light meter for photography I know when its time to hunt, and my wife will call and nag on the cell. So really I want it because its cool.

Hopefully this is the first of its kind in this category of watch segment.
This watch got a very beautiful and rich looks with its Ana-digi display with sophisticated functions.
First and foremost, i like to thank and appreciate YES watches for producing these kind to the world of watches.
When it comes to functions and feathers it got a kind of unique with pie chart, one hand in analog, Sun & Moon stones and its rings and  many more.It got the great looks with two tone straps as well.

This is a great concept. As an amateur astronomer this watch would be very useful for the many varied times I go out observing during the year.

    • MarkNatm

I forgot to add that as a photography buff the main feature of this watch is excellent for identifying when that perfect natural light will be in the sky around sunrise and sunset.

  • d_in_la

As an IT professional, I’m often stuck in basements with no natural lights, always being clued into when sunset occurs is important to me, I always like to get at least a little natural light during the workday.

  • PapaWoodie

Odd & Quirky, but it a neat way.  Looks like it would be quite handy and informative, especially on a kayak or extended camping trip.

Farmers and avid gardeners would also give it a green thumbs up  –  invaluable as a portable planting and harvest indicator.

  • psymon

As a business professional in the IT software world, there are limited things that will truly be a great conversation starter that will get their attention.  As an avid collector of watches, I often find myself moving from one watch to the other, trading and bartering for the next unique time piece.  As a new reader to this blog, I have spent hours on upon my first visit.  I stumbled upon this giveaway, and thought why not.
Additionally, as someone who continuously travels from business meeting to business meeting ranging from building to building, or from one database warehouse to another, sometimes one wants more than just the mere time and date.  Being able to see other unique details would not only be mentally stimulating, but also a be an impressive conversation piece.
Lastly, for someone who works more than 14 hours a day, it is usually hard to squeeze in any activity that requires sun light.  For someone that enjoys golf and fishing, the sun light feature would definitely help out.  And as an added feature, who doesn’t like to know the moon phases to enjoy a nice night scene when one has time to relax?

I am delighted that film makers, hunters, explorers, and techno nerds value and use this watch. As for me, I will use it to simply revel in that glorious dance of the earth, moon and sun!

  • mkss55442

My coworker and I have a running contest to see who can outdo the other with the cooler watch. This would blow his mind.

  • hlbg

Love the design of the watch, additionally it’s the only wrist tool that can give me a real advantage when the zombies finally rise. I can tell you that the cast of Walking Dead would kill to get their hand on YES watches!

  • ElBarto

YES Inca would be a great help in my quest. I’m constantly in need of various astronomical data and also precise sunrise and sunset time. Let’s say that certain “rituals” and saving mankind are involved. I can say no more.  It wouldn’t be in everyone’s best interest if that watch fell into the “wrong” hands. I know how to handle this kind of power and I’m more than able to keep it safe.

As a traveler, this watch would be a great addition to my small collection.  Pushing a button to get the local time?  Can’t beat that!  Plus, my two kids, especially my 7 year-old son, are kind of nerdy – asking me about moon phases!  I don’t know!  The Inca watch would be an awesome way of teaching and learning the phases of the moon.

A digital moon phase watch, wow!  This is a nice, practical, conversation piece.

  • Bsharp1313

Love the watch. As a photographer the sunrise and sunset would be so helpful.

  • shanselman

Love this. When crossing time zones it’s useful to know when sunrise is coming.

  • jtritlla

Fantastic watch!!! I didn’t know about it. As a geologist and photographer this is just brilliant. I need to see one of them… or if I am lucky enough… Cheers!!

  • SeaLarson

This would be a great watch for fishing as fish activity is often linked to sunrise/sunset.

  • TANJ

As a person who loves to travel this watch would really come in handy but more in importantly it would help me get through those pesky time changes twice a year.

  • norbman

Hiking. Most people would prefer watches with alti/baro funcions, but knowing the time of sunset is really, really good to know if you want to be off the mountain before the night makes you feel very alone up there…
    A cool timepiece at all.

  • BarcaFan

Very cool and interesting watch! It could definitely be useful while travelling or possibly while hiking/camping.

  • KnudlBudl

    Very nice watch.

  • ZdravkKoprcina

I’d use it for trekkings and mountaneering,.

  • LenkaKoprina

That’s a beautiful watch. I think I’d wear it all the time so it would always be handy , pun intended.

  • queitsch

I’m a werewolve and this watch can spare me some embarresments 😉

  • Michael Walters

A Yes watch like this would be useful when I’m looking at siting some solar panels.

  • beckmn1

Great looking watch that would definitely help with the best photography golden hour times!

  • DavidAdamsbaum

I have the Kundalini and absolutely love it!!  Would love to add this to the Yes collection!

  • mrbrett1967

Nice watch, would be handy while fishing.

  • PaulAtkinson

    Yes, please!

  • dpd

This watch would be great to have while hunting for the invasive great python that is destroying the native species  in the Everglades and there is no electricity or street lights to guide the way.

  • Tommcole

Wow what a nice time piece! I love the functions, for me time is everything. My job requires me to be as precise as possible and knowing sunrise and set times with out having to look them up all the time would be great.

  • kungfulambchops

This is a beautiful watch. Since I don’t currently own a watch — my own has stopped working and is beyond repair — the “time” function of this watch would be enormously useful.

  • TSpark

For me this watch would be great for photography.

  • HiddenMaces

A perfect watch, the looks are astonishing.
This is going to be a war between this watch and my pebble (who hasn’t arrived yet) so … first come first serve :)

  • Herbal Mooning

I am a Master Herbalist and herbal formulas are stronger when you start them on the new moon and finish them on the full moon. Also, like to do sungazing meditations at sunrise and sunset. This watch would be not only useful but stylish!
