Grand-Seiko-Master Craftsman-2

Like Topper’s event last year, this visit will provide an opportunity to see up close Grand Seiko’s unique use of modern materials. Guests will be able to see several of the various proprietary SPRON alloys such as the SPRON610 used in hairsprings which enhance the anti-magnetism in the watches; the SPRON510 used for the mainspring in eight Hi-Beat watches; the SPRON530 used for Hi-Beat models; as well as the nickel escapement wheel and pallet fork that are engineered using MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology for enhanced precision and durability. Guests will be invited to ask Mr. Shimoda any questions as they watch him work. It should be a great time see and appreciate the craftsmanship involved in the assembly and disassembly of these amazing Grand Seiko movements.

Topper will be providing sake and appetizers, and Grand Seiko Forum regular Allen Han (ten13) will provide delicious infused tea. Allen is not just an enthusiast of Grand Seiko, but is also the CEO and founder of Teforia, a company that manufactures machines that know the exact time, temperature, and water needed to brew the perfect cup.

RSVP is not necessary, but if you’d like to let us know you plan to attend, please email [email protected] to better help in preparation of Topper’s event. topperjewelers.com
