The humbly, yet implicatively titled Aviation collection possibly is the most widely recognized range of watches from Bell & Ross…The BR03 line of watches are part of the Aviation collection and today we are looking at a new and very limited piece called the BR03-51 GMT-TWG…

In this edition’s roundup, we check out a mix of sports and dress watches including a hardy Bell & Ross chronograph, two affordable dive watches, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Patek Philippe’s new Gondolo watch and Corum’s latest releases at Baselworld. We also discuss the pros and cons of buying from a retail shop and online, and also visit Audemars Piguet’s Singapore service center.
Hands-on review and video of the Bell & Ross BR01-94 Pro Titanium Carbon Fiber Chronograph watch.
The Only Watch 2013 charity watch auction which occurs every other year in Monaco is coming up in September of 2013. aBlogtoWatch has created a full list (that we will update as more watches for the auction are released) of all the piece unique (one-of-a-kind) timepieces that will be offered at the event.
Bell & Ross CEO Carlos Rosillo speaks to aBlogtoWatch at Baselworld presenting the brand’s new watches for 2013. We look at new BR01, BR03, and BR 123 and BR 126 models. Clearly more emphasis of aviation and aviation history. Later we looked at the watches and will continue to follow up with Bell & Ross’s new timepieces for this year.
Bell & Ross had a strong collection of new watches for 2013 at Baselworld this year. My personal favorite model is the BR 126 Blackbird, a limited edition model with a personality that is meant to honor the original of Bell & Ross as a brand.
The good news is that new watches in 2013 are better than ever, and take it from people who’ve seen the watches. Top 10 lists are great, but a few we’ve seen are written by people who haven’t even seen the products…
We check out Bell & Ross’ new aviation-themed watches, Ressence’s new Type 3 watch, find out how the HYT H1 movement works and more.
When the original Bell & Ross BR01 watch collection debuted about a decade ago it was a sort of manly dress watch and there was nothing like this BR01-93 GMT model. There were a few versions, but many of them focused on the piece’s inherent luxury status and ability to not look like “just” a 46mm wide wrist instrument.
For 2013 Bell & Ross will once again offer up a few new “Aviation Instrument” themed collection of watches based on the BR 01 (BR01) case. I believe this is the third or fourth year of doing so that began with pieces like the BR 01 Compass and then BR 01 Radar watch.
We get asked for advice on buying watches all year long but we can’t answer everyone. If you still aren’t sure what watches should be on your shopping list this holiday season, let’s see what the aBlogtoWatch writing team has to say.
The last major Bell & Ross watch that we haven’t covered yet for 2012 is the WW1 and PW1 Argentium collection. I believe Bell & Ross CEO Mr. Carlos Rosillo himself was wearing a WW1 Argentium watch when I checked out this collection among other Bell & Ross piece.
This is the Bell & Ross WW1-90-S, a recent model inspired by WW1-era pocketwatch conversions, where the lugs were loops of wire soldered onto the case.
This is the Bell & Ross 126 Sport and it is one of the most important watches currently sold by the sometimes polarizing Swiss brand. Bell & Ross is a recognizable luxury brand thanks to their line of instrument-style watches like the BR 01 and its many iterations.
This one’s for you Matt… aBlogtoRead.com readers know that I don’t spend a lot of blog space explaining which watch actors and athletes are currently paid to endorse. I will however discuss watches on the wrists of people I respect and that have good enough taste to choose something nice. WordPress and Automattic founder Matt […]
I am not a gambler but gaming can be fun. So fun that a lot of high-end watch brands have devised casino-themed timepieces that either suggest or directly emulate gaming. A popular example was the Girard-Perregaux Jackpot Tourbillon of several years ago. It had a tourbillon, actual slot machine, and cost over $600,000. More recently, […]
