For 2013, the aBlogtoWatch watch gift guide will take the form of an editor’s and contributor’s wish list. Some of the editorial team has gone ahead and chosen a few of the timepieces from last year that are really high on their list. These are mostly newer watches, but ones that should be available for purchase now. So for this holiday season you’ll get a good idea of what we’ve personally wanted, and we didn’t include crazy stuff that no one can get, even if they could afford it.

Today, we’ll be looking at another great entry into what I’m calling the Office Diver category (more on that in a minute) from our friends over at Magrette. We first brought you word of the watch late last year (here), and today we’ve got the hands-on review. Curious? Read on!
New Zealand is probably one of the last places in the world that comes to mind when you think of watches. However, this small country, tucked far away in the corner of the world, is home to Magrette Watches. We now look at their most basic model to-date, an attractive mechanical watch with a price point under $400.
Magrette is a small independent watch brand hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. We have covered their watches in the past and they have recently announced a new addition to their Ragattare line of sport dive watches. The new Regattare Tiki will offer a wider range of dial colors as well as case finishing in either stainless or PVD. The Regattare Tiki builds on the Magrette formula with strong and legible dial design backed by a sport-ready case construction which boasts 500m water resistance.
Our favorite New Zealand-based watch company Magrette is back with a new watch model called the Moana Pacific Professional. In addition to a slightly new design flavor and more sporty attire, the Moana Pacific Professional finally uses the well-received Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic movement that we actually covered back here.
Magrette of New Zealand has just released two watches for pre-order that are the brand’s first chronograph watches. The watches contain the same movement and share similar cases, but have their differences. The first watch is the Magrette Moana Pacific Chronograph PVD and the second is the Magrette Regattare Chronograph. With their first chronograph watch […]

It has been a very interesting journey so far with Magrette. I first reviewed about their Regattare Kupe’s Voyage limited edition watch here about a year and half ago, and today I am reviewing their new limited edition Kia Kaha…
The Magrette saga continues with two new watches. These new pieces serve a very specific purpose. They offer the beauty of Magrette’s hand-done Maori style engraving, but in a more subtle manner. Allowing most of the visible PVD black case to be masculine and strong in appearance. Each comes in a limited edition set of […]
