Associate Editor Position @ aBlogtoWatch

aBlogtoWatch is seeking a motivated associate editor to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about watches with strong writing skills and, while it is not a prerequisite, candidates with photography and image editing skills are strongly preferred. The most important duty for the associate editor will be writing assigned daily news and editorial stories, often on strict deadline for turnover time. This is a remote contract (non-employee) position, so you will need to be self-motivated and able to manage and keep track of schedules across several different time zones.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to learn the ins and outs of the business at one of the busiest and most popular watch media outlets in the world. This is an independent contractor, entry level position ideal for someone who thrives in an independent and remote work environment.

aBlogtoWatch reaches around one million unique visitors per month and is a mature platform, having been founded in 2007 and having a long-time loyal following. aBlogtoWatch is generally a locus point for seasoned watch collectors, as well as novices interested in developing a timepiece-enthusiast education. aBlogtoWatch community members are located around the world with a relatively even split among the major economic centers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Other responsibilities and related duties may be included in Associate Editor role as necessary. This includes working with the team on editorial or client projects as needed, as well as participating in internal team discussions and meetings. aBlogtoWatch is an entirely remote organization, so this role could be performed from anywhere; the core aBlogtoWatch team is located in Los Angeles, California.

While a working knowledge of blog-style website and popular social media platforms (along with their publishing tools) is expected and required, other plus-factors include light graphic design and photo editing skills, photography experience, and the ability to shoot timepieces if necessary, as well as strong writing skills. Being organized, responsible, professional, curious, comfortable working alone, comfortable with autonomy, well-spoken, and naturally polite are additional skills and virtues that will lead to success.

This is an independent contractor, entry level position ideal for someone who thrives in an independent remote work environment.

Applicants must share a resume or equivalent LinkedIn profile and are encouraged to provide a cover letter that details their particular experience, while also explaining why they feel they are a good match for the role. We look forward to hearing from you.
