Citizen-Signature-Grand-Touring-Sport-4

Around the dial is a rotating diver’s bezel, and attached to the case is a chunky metal bracelet that matches the design of the case pretty well. The bracelet is certainly of a higher quality than most people will be used to on lower-end Citizen watches. Inside of the Citizen Signature Grand Touring Sport watch is a Citizen caliber 9012 automatic movement. What is the 9012? Essentially, it is the same as the popular Miyota 9015, that is meant to compete with movements such as the ETA 2824, and operates at 4Hz. The 9012 has a unique rotor and is exclusively used in Citizen products, while third party companies can buy the 9015 from Miyota.

Citizen will release two versions of the Grand Touring Sport for 2014. Each is in steel, but there is all steel version with the blue dial, as well as a two-tone version with rose gold accents and a black dial. Each is a fine looking timepiece and I think should do well outside of Japan especially to those many knowledgeable watch lovers who know what you get with a high-end Japanese watches. The Citizen Signature Grand Touring Sport watch will be priced at $1,195 and $1,295 respectively. They should be available starting in July 2014. citizenwatch.com
