IWC Portuguese Chrono Automatic Jackie Chan Edition WatchIWC Portuguese Jackie Chan watch back

JamesList never fails to impress with me with interesting and appealing watches. My latest find is this Jackie Chan Limited Edition IWC Portuguese Chrono Automatic watch – really nice. Here is the background: so Mr. Chan has a charity called “the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation” (clever name I know). And this watch was part of an effort to raise money, through sales most likely. I honestly don’t know the exact connection with the foundation and the watch, but THERE IS a connection. How do I know? A little detective work here; it says “For the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation” on the caseback of the watch. I know, I am clever. Also on the back of the watch is a hybrid symbol for the Chinese character for Dragon, with the name “Jackie” in it, in English.

The glory of this special edition watch is really most appreciated through this video where a bona fide watch fanatic (like me) documents his unboxing ceremony. With more passion for this watch than any woman, the collector proves just how many times the word “beautiful” can be used in a short video about taking a fine IWC watch out of its packaging. You just have to see this.

What was available as a limited edition of only 250 pieces, the IWC Portuguese Chrono Automatic Jackie Chan edition (Ref.371433) was originally released in 2006, but some are still available. Most of the watch is everything you know and love about the Portuguese Chronograph collection, but with some special colors, and the caseback engraving. The case of the watch is in full 18k red gold with an ardoise dial. The movement is the IWC caliber 79350 automatic chronograph mechanical movement. The two tone appearance of the dial is very handsome, with the Portuguese watches being of the most legible luxury watches around. The applied gold Arabic numerals on the dial are very handsome. Matching well with the red gold case and brown dial is a brown alligator strap.

See the limited edition watch available on JamesList for just under 11,000 Euros.
