Watch Giveaway: Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic Giveaways

In this month’s aBlogtoWatch giveaway, one lucky reader will win an Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic watch. Live on Kickstarter now, the Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic collection offers a unique design inspired by the traditions of some of the greatest civilizations history has known. Most notably, each timepiece centers around the Shanyrak, a symbol of home, hearth, and heritage. In order to communicate this tradition, Amir Watches sought to incorporate the symbol into a watch that is subtle, stylish, and full of personality. The result is a watch that can easily serve as a daily-wear piece, even if the design is slightly unconventional.

The Amir Watches Nomadic Empire is available in four different variations; the Nomad, the Khan, the Conqueror, and the Eagle Hunter. The winner will be able to choose a specific version and each model has its own unique aesthetic. All watches in the Nomadic Empire collection feature a lightweight 42mm corrosion-resistant titanium case, a skeletonized Miyota 8N24 automatic movement, 100m of water resistance, and a multi-layer ‘sandwich’ dial with Super-LumiNova and a unique rotating disc time display. Currently, all Amir Nomadic Empires Automatic models are valued at $699 and you can enter to win your very own by following the instructions below.

My favourite watches from Baselworld 2018 would probably be the Tudor and Rolex pepsi’s. Also I really liked the new Zenith DEFY. I never really paid much attention to Zenith but this new DEFY looks amazing especially the skeletonized version on the bracelet. Another great looking watch at a pretty good price would be the new Maurice Lacroix Aikon. Just looks really good and has a sort of Royal Oak feel. Overall I think this was a very successful Baselworld despite a smaller brand turnout.

  • Mikita
    • Tea Hound

As ever with Seiko: lovely watch, hands and dial, awful logo and beyond terrible the-worst-of-the-seventies bracelet.

  • Tea Hound

Rolex GMT-Master II 126711CHNR ‘Root Beer’ – liquid sunshine, chocolate and honey on the wrist. Mmmmm!

    • Tea Hound

You may as well close the competition. There isn’t a better watch in this year’s Baselworld than the one I picked. Please send the watch – I don’t care which one – to ‘Leakage Monaco’, the charity hospice for over-used ladyboys; Marius will supply the address – after all, he’s supplied most of the residents.

    • Raymond Wilkie

No space between the r and – and you’re only allowed three m’s because I said so.

  • Joel Schumann

The De Bethune DB25 with the starry sky is spectacular and would not be mistaken for anything else. I would love to try that on. Now, being a realistic guy, I would probably pick something just a little bit more prosaic, like the Nautilus perpetual calendar. You’ll notice that is two watches with a connection to stars and moons and stuff.

  • Vladimir Moldovan

I always really liked the ref 5205 annual calendar from Patek and their new addition to the family this year with the blue dial and moon phase is gorgeous. But I’m gonna be more down to earth and pick the Autobahn from Nomos. Nomos, as a relative newcomer, are doing everything right, from the attractive designs to the in-house movement to the excellent price/quality ratio. Or perhaps i should pick the new Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde silver moon phase? Damnit!
Anyway, the show was pretty great, I really enjoyed the Breguet guilloche tutorial and the MB&F exposition.

  • David Williams

For me, as a fan of blue dials, it’s the Omega Seamaster 300M with the wave motif – or (in my dreams) the Breguet Marine, with the rather stormier waves! Baselworld 2018 seemed to represent a steady consolidation, with nothing too risky or outrageous – even the Daytona Rainbow seemed tasteful, for its intended market, on account of the co-ordinated indices and bezel, and the impeccable standard of the stone setting.

  • Carlos Marin Aguas

My favorite watches introduced in Baselworld 2018 are the Rolex GMT Master with Pepsi insert and the new Omega Seamaster 300m

  • Justin

Ilike the look of the Seiko Presage SJE073. I think it is a gorgeous watch, ver elegant. There was nothing outstanding from Basel 2018 for me, but it was interesting to read about the new designs.

  • W.k. Ng

Baselworld 2018 Jaquet Droz Grande Second Tribute – Yellow Gold and Ivory Enamel is my favorite. Easy reading, simple and elegant. A good looking dress watch.

  • Chris Bos

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze is my favourite. The overall Baselworld watches try to keep us all amazed, and they succeeded. Every brand is trying to create something special. This Oris is a very nice try to combine the bronze trend with good old sophistication. Less is more, but a modern touch is extra more for me.

  • Y Til

I liked the longine new black legend diver, i like dive watch and the show was not as surprising and inovative as i would expect.

  • David Singer

I like the new Tudor watches as well as the new Omega Seamaster 300M

  • celticfox

Favourite watch has to be Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic – I’ve always loved ultra-slims, and as an engineer can appreciate the mind-blowing skill to achieve this wafer-thin triple world record holder. And it is drop dead gorgeous to boot – what’s not to like?! I suspect few will be worn out & about, but as a piece of horological history, it is still stunning. As to the rest of Baselworld – some interesting and attractive new watches, many plays on existing themes and not a huge amount of ground-braking. But it is still Baselworld, so still a watch-lover’s heaven!

  • Chris MoJo

Tudor GMT was a highlight for me. It looks great. Overall I think the coverage across all sites focused on a lot of the same watches so it is difficult to get an idea of what else is out there, I’ll have to go in person one year to get a true feel for the show.

  • Matthijs Snellink

Legende valjoux 88 is by far my favourite one. It is just stunningly beautiful. As for the whole Basel world, it had some nice and less nice watches but still as good as last year.

  • mehmet

I follow this site very much.

    • Tea Hound

We’ve never seen you here before… You just stumbled upon it by random googling.

      • Raymond Wilkie

        I concur.

      • What would one google to stumble on this competition? Modern Yurts?

  • SuperStrapper

    Freak Vision

  • Blake Howard

    Tudor Black Bay GMT

  • Richard Arseneault

There are a lot of timepieces to choose from but the Seiko Prospex SLA019 caught my eye. A solid piece that stands out with its bold green without being too ostentatious. Much style was on display this year.

  • benjameshodges

It felt safe but I am a sheep so for me it was the Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi.

  • Demonix

For me Baselworld highlight watch would be the Graham Chronofighter Super Light Carbon. A very traditional design brought bang up to date with bold colour strap and a fantastic forged carbon case. I want one big time!

  • Norman

I thought Tudor showed a nice coffee colored dress/diver that was fairly classy, and the Sinn 826 showed understated masculinity in a large watch. The Brequet dd tour billion was simple over the top and silly. It’s a rich man’s buy for putting on a wrist when you’re stuffing the body into a coffin.

  • Jason

I thought Grand Seiko stole the show with some Beautiful anniversary pieces that stood out from the crowd. The Tudor 58 was a very close second !!

  • turboBB73

Thx for the giveaway! Really liked the Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite in steel, very elegant way to display multi-time zones.

  • Dominic Cloutier

I was in heaven! Maybe not in this lifetime but the Rolex Pepsi Killed it for me.

  • Nathan Schneider

Basel was awesome this year. Grand Seiko definitely killed it, especially that new Presage dial. Gorgeous.

  • jahenson

I really enjoyed Baselworld this year. I felt that they had more watches that were both accessible and of interest to me. I particularly enjoyed the Tudor GMT. I know that the Rolex Pepsi bezel was really popular, but I just can’t get into the jubilee bracelet.

  • TimboinOK

It’s gotta be the Hublot Geneve. I love the brushed gun metal color along with the overall size and shape. Very sharp indeed. Everyone at the show seemed to be very sharp dressed. So much so that it proved why didn’t I made the choice of not to be there but to see it online.

  • Steve

I really enjoy the UN fleek, full of fun and stylish. No other word can describe it’s beauty.

  • drThrillman

    Hideous….but that’s just my opinion

  • This is what happens when you send a printed thumbnail photo of your watch, to be used for your main promotional image.

  • RF96

My favourite this year has got to be a grail timepiece: the Patek 5270P with the Salmon dial. Understated refinery in a nutshell.

  • Jim B

    Definitely the Tudor black bay

  • Raymond Wilkie
    • Roger Bruneau

Beauty is in the eye of the boholder. Sometime’s , you grow into it.
I find The Nomadic Empress Watch Collection to bring a new twist to watch collecting. The center rotating dial reminds me of the roof inside pattern of the Yurt Tent. I prefer the Eagle Hunter model as I think it’s easier to see the time. The different color handles add a nice touch. One other feature that I like is the outer case design with the two wavy lines. It make’s it different from all the others.

    • babola

      Borat likes.

      • Raymond Wilkie

        Borat is welcome to it.

  • Ozy

Loved the Grand Seiko anniversary pieces! Have to get myself one of those

  • D.C.

I enjoy all the Baselworld coverage. For me, I have to say the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight. Vintage vibes and a smaller size make it a winner.

  • 112010

    I enter to win! Yes!

  • Raymond Wilkie

    • “tell us about your favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018, why you think it stood out, and how you felt about the show overall.”

      • Raymond Wilkie

I hate to be pedantic ( it’s not in my nature ) but ” Comment on this post below ” to win the watch and while you’re at it what did you like in BW 2018?

  • Trepies001

    Neat model names

  • ProJ

I can’t believe I am saying this as I’ve never been an Omega fan, but my Basel World 2018 favourite is the very appropriately sized Omega 1948 limited edition (the one on the left)

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/588130ee0aa3ab52930327c744401a6380705944741a2510f11df3a854e78693.jpg

    • Mikita

But they are so damn thick: they should’ve gone with the manual wound caliber. If you compare these to the real vintage ones, the latter are at least 2 times thinner.

      • ProJ

Agree with you. It’s at least 2mm too thick.

  • Larry Holmack

Well…I don’t live any where close to Basel World 2018 and don’t fly anymore….so I don’t have a clue what was or wasn’t there. But…I have seen the new 44 mm Rolex DeepSea D-Blue Dial ( and I never thought I would desire a Rolex again!!! ). It’s pretty darn nice!

  • Darh109

Czapek Faubourg de Cracovie Grand Feu is interesting, despite “cutting” things on the dial.

  • Daniel Harper

I think my favorite watch from Basel 2018 has to be the new Tudor BB Fifty-Eight; excellent gilt finishing, vintage sizing, and a thinner case (hooray!). Special shout out to the Tudor GMT from bringing a quality GMT watch to that mid-range entry-level price point that is so appreciated by people like myself. Overall, I was really excited to follow Basel and it did not fail to impress.

  • Brian Detweiler

I’m not a Rolex fan, but you have to admit that GMT Master II was one of the sexiest things at the show. Now I want one.

  • Michael Harvey

The Amir Nomad collection is very innovative in design and is reasonably priced. My favorite at Baselworld 2018 was the Oris Big Crown Pointer date, with blue dial & stainless bracelet. Easy to read & reasonably priced. I particularly liked the overall move toward classic designs at the show.

  • William Pope

A standout for me was the Oris 65 with bronze bezel. It’s a very utilitarian take on the two tone dive watch and one I can imagine wearing a lot. I was happy that the show featured so many models under 40mm, but it would be nice to see more that aren’t just vintage reissues.

  • SPITX206

My favorite watch at Baselworld 2018 is the Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time ref. 5524R in 18K rose gold with a brown dial. However unless I win big, really big, it will never be on my wrist. Why my favorite? Not only is it a PP but it is one of the few watches they produce that breaks their own mold. As for Baselworld 2018 in general, nice, but I was only there through the eyes of the media.

  • NC

I really loved the vintage aesthetic of the Tudor GMT. I think overall the what I saw of Basel’18 was a great range of new watches, new designs and reimagined old ones.

  • Maciej Grzeszak

Following the relationship with Baselworld 2018, the new Navitimer B01 from Breitling made the most impression on me. It is a very fresh project.

  • David Humphrey

My favorite watch from Baselworld 2018 is the Omega Seamaster 1948 Limited Edition with the small seconds register.

  • Walter Van Tine

    Great prize! Fingers crossed!

  • Chris B

Loved the Omega Seamaster Diver in all blue. Great show. Hope to go someday.

  • Daniel Park

    Tudor Black Bay GMT

  • Steven Servantez

Seamaster Diver 300M. I like it because it is very stylish and would go with any attire

  • mickey

I loved the look of the Tudor’s new 1926 and the different colors and case size to almost make it personal. Along with a price tag that I can afford. I love Basel and would love to go someday although what passes for clothing and what I would say as normal and that would fit me are totally different. I am a big guy, ex college football defensive tackle, and I doubt most of those clothes are even made in large size, much less my size. Which is good in my opinion.

  • Guy Davidson

    Omega 1948

  • Savik King

    Tudor Pelagos

  • Agnar Sidhu

Many great new Watches lunched this year. Have never been there, but would be pretty cool to attend! My favorite watch this year has to be the Zenith Pilot 20 chronograph ton up.
The green dial Seiko, salmon PP and Tudor GMT were also very nice.

  • Kimberly Rampersad

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Steel is so neat and classy looking. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • Curt Thompson

the Rolex GMT in Steel. Wished to have seen more I liked from Zenith, but I like the GMT trend from Rolex and Tudor, nice price point on them both. They’re simply on top of what I think their community wants, even though I won’t buy one personally.

  • sam-b

My favorite watch at Baselworld 2018 is definitely the ‘Tudor Black Bay GMT’. Gorgeous design & inhouse manufactured movement at a proper price!
I am not keen on visiting Baselworld – it might be nice for retailers, but as a consumer you shouldn’t expect much but expenses. If you want to get close to interesting timepieces you may visit Munich- or Viennatime.

  • Phil Lewis

My favorite Basel release… I like the Rolex GMT updates. The stainless steel “pepsi” bezel on the different bracelet is nice, as well as the rose gold brown dial GMT that reminds me a little of the old “root beer” dial watches. The Tudor version is nice too at a lower price.

  • M. Rogers

Easily the Rolex GMT. Not a Rolex fan, but they always deliver great watches and the GMT is no different. Looks like it would run for a 100 years, and look good the whole time.

  • Steve Jacobs

It seemed like the same old stuff to me but I did like the Omega 300m. I had one and sold it and regret it.

  • mtnsicl

I didn’t see the show, so I don’t have a favorite. I’m skeptical about this Kickstarter project.

  • Areg Bagdasarian

The giveaway is a great idea! What stood out to me at Basel World was the Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar, it just looks sleek and classic at the same time.

  • nickie burke

Tudor Black Bay GMT, I like the design.

  • Ah Shumaker

I liked the features of the re tweaked Seadweller. BW remains fascinating in the ability of manufacturers continually pushing out improvements.

  • Luis Horacio Velez de la Pava

they saw several very interesting watches like the new omega
SPEEDMASTER MOONWATCH APOLLO 8 or the patek phillipe 5270P was incredible to see so many interesting watches.

  • Fitifazrul Rahman

Easy. Rolex GMT. A modern classic.

  • Jimi

I was already a huge fan of the Glashutte Original Senator Cosmopolite… but now to see it’s available in steel at a “discount”… just means I’m that much closer to some day owning a pre-owned one 🙂

  • Bowen Brinegar

New to the category of mid to high end watches. I have numerous lower end pieces that I really enjoy, but I’ve started following Baselworld this year and have really enjoyed exploring all the brands that are out there (and some classics I had not seen before). The Rolex GMT is amazing, but for my price range I think you’re buying more status than timepiece (although, it’s still a lot of timepiece). I’m not really a fan of Tudor’s new GMT, it’s a carbon copy of the Rolex equivalent and people spending their money on Tudor could make it go a lot further with other brands (check out Christopher Ward). I think what Sinn has to offer this year in their Blue 103 and the cream 910 looks great, but the cases are too thick. I think the Tissot Heritage looks good, but agree it would look better in a 38 or even a 36 considering it has no bezel. I would have really liked to see a heritage watch, with a domed bezel, and cream dial, within a reasonable price range, and the right case size from at least one company (Oris’s Big Crown, might be the settling point). On the higher end, Omega’s new Seamaster with the classic waves on the dial looks great! The Speedmaster however looks like a refined version of the Heuer Carrera Calibre 01’s. I’m a fan of when watches show their movements, but I think it has to be done right and I would much prefer the Speedmaster from the 1957 Trilogy that Omega released limited editions of. All together, I likely won’t be buying any new watches this year, but Baselworld has locked in another fan, and I’ll be returning to next years coverage!

  • Chris Martin

I liked learning about the absolutely bonkers and unnecessary ASTRONOMIA MAESTRO

  • Lindsay

    Pass

  • MB

Definitely the De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius… I mean, just look at it. It’s a piece of art. Standing out is the least it does foe me. Haven’t followed Baselworld previously, so with little to compare to, my general feeling of the show is great. So many fantastic watches to drool over.

  • The Bamford Tag’s were a treat for sore eyes.

  • Wayde Gibson

    nice

  • Keegan

My favorite was the Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Dial because it was the epitome of a dive watch and dive watches are where it’s at right now. The show lived up to the hype 100%.

  • Zoran Filipovic

    Amazing giveaway, awesome watch !

  • Skootertrash

APRIL FOOLS!! Oh wait, no this was posted on the 2nd. Just another kickstarter piece.

  • Lilian Manlapaz

    I like the new Rolex.

  • Won Matt

Nomos’ Autobahn Neomatik. Simple, adrenaline rush.

  • markahaviland

Beautiful design, simple, straightforward watch face numbers, and amazing gold accents make it a very attractive timepiece. I would love to own this.

  • “The Dick”

This “watch” is the worst looking pile of steaming dog crap, that I have ever seen. You could not pay me to wear this thing. It is almost too stupid to be called a watch. PASS!

  • Janine vdm

i like the UN fleek 🙂 super nice

  • SBUBandit

Hard to argue with a Rolex GMT, but just to be different, I liked the Oris Big Crown with the pointer date. The version with the pastel blue face and tan leather strap was very pretty

  • Clare O’Brien

I don’t think anything could hold a candle to the Rolex GMT 🙂 such a timeless, classic watch

  • Tainan Lu

I like VELDT LUXTURE because it’s stylish.

  • grandma 1

this would make a perfect gift for my grandson who is turning 16 in june.

  • Brian Kautz

The Chopard Mille Miglia 2018 Race Edition, nice chrono with a classic look

  • Brian Bezel

I love the Tudor Black bay GMT with the “Pepsi” bezel. It’s a great addition to the Black Bay line and I like the look of an oyster style bracelet over the Rolex jubilee bracelet. In the future I’d like to see more watches made with Titanium case and bracelets as I’m allergic to Stainless Steel.

  • Calvin F.

Speedmaster Moonwatch “Blue Side Of The Moon” – “Baselworld 2018” is nice, it looks very unique and is a timeless piece inspired by the moon, feels like a space piece

  • johnwithanh

Tudor Black Bay GMT. Great move by Rolex to create something new inspired by the past at a great price point. Will also serve as a stepping stone to get folks to “full Rolex” in time. Great decision in art and commerce.

Overall the show had a great showing of pieces at all price ranges, but some real winners at the lower end, which is probably where the industry needs to focus as more Baby Boomers “age out” of the population…

  • B.M

    Tudor Black Bay

thank you foir this oportuniti !

    good luck all !

  • kylerogerson

My favorite watch at Baselworld 2018 is the Rolex GMT

  • Wayde Marriott

This watch is very stylish and unique.

  • james

Tudor Black Bay looks great, like titanium over stainless.

  • Leanne

My favourite is the Rolex gmt. My fiancée would love it

  • Gary Aerne

My favorite watch at the show is the Gerard Paraqua.

  • Allen Ross

At Baselworld 2018 I thought the Tudor Black Bay GMT with the Pepsi Bezel was super kool!!??

  • Chuck Fisher

Really unique and classy looking watch. Unlike anything else i have seen.

  • Jessica Matheson

    Great Quality Watch

  • 35,000 Feet

    Amir Nomadic Empires Automatic

  • Dan Turck

Another great Baselworld – always amazed at how many unique designs I see. My favorite was actually a twist on a classic – the Oris big crown pointer date in the new grey-blue dial. So sharp!

  • Thomas Johnson

Favorinte watch was the Hublot MP-11
Wow, new materials and expert balance.
It seems to emote the precise engineering that makes time pieces a joy to own

  • Sandi Tymchuk

This watch is quite unique. I would love to surprise my husband with it as a gift! Although i did not attend Baselworld 2018, a watch that stood out for me in reviews was the Benjamin Clymer – Omega Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds, for its classic timeless styling–perfect for any generation!

    • Tea Hound

‘Unique’ is a binary term; something is unique, or it is not. Disqualified.

  • David

My fav watch of the show was the Favre-Leuba Raider Sea King. Restrained, with heritage and a very attractive price point. Not the best looking but I like the whole composition and at a size that works for my 7.5″ wrist. Overall, I thought the show was excellent, wish I could have attended.

  • Stephanie Mitchell

Awesome watch. Well worth the money.

  • Laurence Price

The watch that is my favorite is the Rolex GMT. I think that it is a nice looking watch that probably feels great to wear.

    • at1time

I have to agree the Rolex GMT. I love the GMT function even though I rarely need it.

  • Alistair Salmon

I’m not usually much for the particular style of this watch as I tend to prefer style motifs of say the new Omega Seamaster. But the Grande Seconde Moon byJaquet Droz really took me off guard and is an amazing looking time piece. Reminds me of a luminescent drop in a pool of pitch black.

  • JohnBoy of Alaska

I liked a lot of the stuff at Basel this year. The watch the caught my eye was the Seiko Shippo blue dial with sub-seconds and power reserve. Stunning blue, glowing and with the robust 6R15. Love it and gonna try to save up for it.

  • Marc-Andre Taillefer

The watch that is my favorite is the Rolex GMT.

  • Andrew Clark

GLASHUTTE ORIGINAL SENATOR CHRONOGRAPH – Sleek and simple, stood out vs others due to its classic style.

  • Chris MacEwen

I love the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight . It’s the style of it that I like – the simplicity of the design.

  • Lurch

My favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018 is the Seamaster Diver 300M. it looks a whole lot better than this Amir Watches Nomadic Empire. Valued at $699!?
    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a604243b04bb69ac189355cba0dd814b06cba7b44f59c8b787570d7d772212d2.gif

  • John Soltis

It is a very unusual looking watch – NOT elegant, Not too functional looking but maybe a conversation piece! HA!

  • Colette C

Love the look of the Tudor Black Bay 58 . Definitely my favourite. Practical and clean. Great show.

  • Seth L

Baselworld 2018 – wasn’t there in person but it felt like a great showcase of what’s going on in the watch world. I love the retro style watches, but I do worry that there will be too many poorly executed attempts because it’s the popular thing to do. As for the watch I felt stood out the most… the Seiko Presage SJE073 almost takes the prize because of the new 6L35 movement, and the Sinn 910 SRS is tempting, but I have a soft spot for Speedmasters, so the the Speedmaster “Dark Side of the Moon” Apollo 8 has to take the prize due to the awesome Speedmaster heritage and cool lunar surface. (I wish I were more excited about the Seiko, hopefully they can put together a more interesting watch soon)

  • Canadawest

My favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018 is the Rolex GMT. I love Rolex watches. It would look great on both my boyfriend and I.

  • warscourge

The Omega Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds is my favourite in Baselworld 2018. It has a classy and classic look with a super impressive caliber, the Master Chronometer certified with a co-axial escapement. I can wear it daily and still turn heads.

  • Harry Cancel

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chrono is the watch which caught my eye. The orange accent color along with the strap shows its bold sporty side. The 18K white gold took the Aquanaut to another level and I found that to be attractive as well. The show itself, though I was not there, more than likely seemed to be an overall learning experience for any person. With all of the exhibitors presenting their latest innovations, the eye candy for the wrist had to be very appealing.

  • SeanM

I like the Casio G-Shock GMW-B5000. It has a great retro vibe. Didn’t follow the Baselworld 2018 show, so no comments on the show. Your coverage and pictures of the show was great.

  • Boryueh1

Rolex GMT. Simple yet elegant. Can’t go wrong with it anywhere.

  • Peter Van de Laar

My favorite watch is the zenith PILOT TYPE 20. Because the watch was already perfect, but they improved it by creating a bronze version. I like it because of the wearable size and notable dial without overdoing it.
Baselworld was very fun for me to visit a single day. I did enjoy seeing the watches covered by ablogto watch in real a lot. However it was a shame that it was nearly impossible to fit any of the watches of the bigger brands for visitors (it was possible at ssih).

  • mohammed fadil ashraf

Hublot Bing Bang Referee 2018! The concept and idea is out of the box I believe. The team did an excellent job in merging the soccer world cup and timekeeping elements through integrating various modules respectively. The theme matching with strap concept is mind-blowing. And other main thing I personally feels it stands out, because they designed the watch keeping the referee factor, the segment most of the watchmakers doesn’t keep in their mind, and it is also a digital/smartwatch not a mechanical watch, which majority of the manufacturers tends to follow. Baselworld 2018, as usual, it doesn’t forget to surprise the audience with a Bing Bang?. Always getting better and better with innovative concepts and designs.

  • Walter Van Tine

    Unusual, stylish design!

  • Corby Heath

The Hublot MP-11 the movement design is so drastically different than anything you find in a conventional watch. And with it’s styling diffently a piece that will never go unnoticed on the wrist. I’m concerned with the future of Baselworld, with a 50% drop in participation and a very strong SIHH/Geneva Days I hope they realize that they need to evolve to the current consumer and press environment in order to survive.

  • Deri Williams

I love the Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight. The simplicity, the style in a smaller perfect package. I think it’s the best vintage dive watch I’ve seen.

  • Vexed

The tudor black bay gmt in pepsi is probably my favorite from basel. Its a good alternative to the gmt master ii especially when you look at other sport gmt watches. Then again, ive always loved the black bay watches so thats not much of a surprise to me

  • Rodney Stone

Looks like a nice watch, and being a little smaller than some others being offered would suit my wrist

  • Bryan

I really liked the JACOB & CO. ASTRONOMIA MAESTRO. It truly is a work of art for the wrist. Baselword is always a great show, and this year was no exception. Great stuff!. One day, I hope to go.

  • Bobbi

I’ve been looking for a new watch. I really like the Eagle Hunter.

  • Raina Milnes

I really like the watches by Go Girl Only – The Seduis me collection stood out to me. Elegant and simple. Loved the show as well! I just love seeing everything.

  • Andres

My favorite watch of this baselworld 2018 is the PATEK PHILIPPE AQUANAUT CHRONOGRAPH REFERENCE 5968, it´s very masculine and sporty but without flashy and unnecessary ornaments. As for the coverage you made of baselworld 2018, I really did not like it very much. The way you did last year was much better, for those of us who did not have the fortune to go there, it made us feel like we were there.

  • Michael Anthony Jr

It’s really hard to buy a used watch unless it’s from a reputable dealer I wish they’d crack down on all these knock offs

  • Bruce

I like seeing more of the smaller Watch companies having a presence at Basel

  • Brett Lintvelt

My favorite because it is affordable and also high quality is the OMEGA SEAMASTER 300M CO-AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER. My pick of the Nomadic Empires Watch Collection is the Nomad with blue dial.

  • Bram van Leeuwen

What a watch definately one of a kind! Really like it!

  • angela

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chrono with the orange accent color was very attractive and bold.
They took it to another level with the 18K white gold.I did not attend the show myself , it did seem to be a learning experience for most people. the latest innovations were presented by all exhibitors, much to see

  • Joe DiMichele

Cool watch. Definitely a conversation starter. I checked out their web site and the Nomad model or the Khan model are the ones I prefer.

  • Kevin Beard

For the most part I don’t like the Navitimers that were released for Baselworld, but I do really like the look of the Breitling Navitimer 8 Unitime. I think it keeps the classic Navitimer look, but modernizes it. I like the clean design on it.

  • 35,000 Feet

    looks nice

  • Doober

The Tag Heuer Monaco Forged Carbon Bamford Edition is one of my favorite watches at Basel 2018. Very techie-looking, sporty, and just a beauty. The bluish and black color just contrast each other nicely. The show overall was great with a lot of competition in the field. There are many watches I would love to own that were showcased, but that Tag is cool.

  • bob tombs

    great watch superb quality

  • Kevin Peterson

I really liked the Black Bay Fifty-Eight.
    Perfect size fore me.

  • sunder waran

not aware of the brand but look like well build watch.Would be great if i won the giveaway.

  • ChristinaE

The Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic watch is stunning! I really love that its so different. Can’t say I know anything about the Basel 2018 show so I can’t really say what choice of watches would be or if it was a good show or not.

  • Humphrey Mar

I’m not super familiar with all that was shown at Baselworld 2018, but I saw an image of the Citizen Tsuno Chronograph Racer, and liked it very much!

  • Ioana Mohora

i was not at Baselworld 2018 but i like the women festina watch.

  • smalice

    I need a watch, hope i win

  • Bryan A

Favorite watch from Baselworld 2018 is the Anonimo Nautilo Automatic. I like the look of most Dive watches, this one looks the part. I appreciate the show from the standpoint that it’s easy to spot new trends in the industry.

  • Ethan Lee

Favourite watch is the patek 5270P pepectual calendar in salmon dial, this watch combines the elegance of dress watches with a sporty chronograph and the beautiful leather watch matches stunningly with the dial and just makes the watch look breathtaking.

  • Alana LeSueur

I have to say that my favourite is the Patek Aquanaut Chrono…love the orange sassy colour…definitely a stand out. Orange is such a happy colour and my favourite. I did not get to see all the watches shown at the Baselworld 2018.

  • A__d I___m

    Such a nice looking watch

  • Stan Litvin

    Awesome watch to have it!

  • NathanielR.

Favorite was Rolex’s GMT on the jubilee. Not because it’s anything groundbreaking, but because a good friend of mine wears a vintage pepsi GMT on a jubilee daily and it’s cool to see that match coming back in style.

  • Chisholm Deupree

The seiko propex and Astros look really interesting. Although, I must rely on the net for Baselworld info.

  • Gary Barclay

    I like its elegance!

  • Erin

I love the Stephen Pulvirent Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight it just stood out to me as a strong masculine watch.

  • Andrew Morgan

I am a big Rolex fan and the Pepsi jubilee watch featured at Baselworld was a stunner. That said, the Amir ltd is also stunning and something I would wear with pride.

  • 35,000 Feet

    Miyota 8N24 automatic movement

  • Idea of using the ‘Shanyrak’ is beautiful. The dial is very different and love the humility in the marketing line : “No pretensions to “reinvent, revolutionize or redefine” anything.”

  • Jason Hackworth

The new GS high accuracy watches were the highlight of BW for me. Overall, the reissue theme seemed a bit overdone by all brands.

  • Olaf

For me it’s the Oris Aquis Date with the green sunburst dial and steel bracelet. It stands out exactly because of these features.

  • Gary Barclay

THE SPEEDMASTER “DARK SIDE OF THE MOON” APOLLO 8 is out of this world and the show is an impressive display of elegant timepieces.

  • Andy Berrios

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M stands out for me as the Dial markers seem to float off the dial! Beautiful Watch! The show had a wide and impressive display of watches!

  • Saayed Agha

Hublot Big Bang. The color may not be for everyone, but why be subtle with their refined ability to color ceramics? The show seemed interesting due to the new era of smartwatches making an impact within the industry.

  • Tristan

Lots of cool watches at Basel this year. I’m going to go all sheep like and single out the Tudor Black Bay 58 as the Basel watch I’m most likely to buy. I’ve always loved the Black Ba, but been weary of it’s thickness. The BB58 solves that, and looks great with it. It has almost exactly the same dimensions as my 60s Tudor Sub, but with modern robustness.

  • Jonathan Davies

I personally love how Omega went vintage this year with the 1948 limited edition. I hate how my vintage watches can’t take the stress of everyday wear, so the opportunity to wear that vintage style Omega everyday would be amazing. The show overall was alright.

  • Chanel Davies

I was excited to see what Seiko had to offer this year and I wasn’t disappointed. I really like the Seiko presage automatic with that snowflake dial and bright blue seconds hand. It’s a shame that the price is so close to the GS though because at that price, you may as well up your purchase to a GS. The show overall was great!

  • Jason723

This is a nice looking watch.

  • Claudiu

Even though (I suppose) only the design is made in Kazakhstan, it is a good start, and I like to see watches with something other than “Swiss Made” written on them. But the design…
When you have to *think* in order to figure out which is the minute hand and which is the hour hand…you know it is not a good design. And since when is 42mm unisex, that watch sits like a plate on those women’s wrists. Other than that I think their heart is in the right place.

As for Baselworld, I liked the Nomos Glashütte Autobahn, other than this most were just…new old watches.

  • will ore

I believe the Rolex GMT master in stainless steal with jubilee bracelet was a well awaited addition to the iconic rolex line up. The waiting lists at AD’s is already filling up quickly. Overall I think Baselworld was a success, and in typical fashion, Rolex once again shined.

  • Sam

For me, the Bell & Ross diver took the show with the new bronze and blue variant. Eventho Baselworld getting less buyer but vendor still going strong. Love to see the show and would love to come physicaly, an excuse to bring the family to Switzerland!

  • Jimi

My all time favorite watch, the Glashutte Original Senator Cosmopolite, is now available in steel 🙂

  • Bryan Goldsmith

    I like MB&f. I didn’t go to the show.

  • Xavier Grivel

I have to admit that I fell in love with the more than elegant Vicenterra Tycho Brahe Tome 2 Blue (which by the way is the object of an excellent review on this same blog). As for BaselWorld, it is always a pleasure to see such masterpieces and to have the opportunity to meet and speak with other watch lovers. I am looking forward to the next edition!

  • Ty Philips

Just checked out the Amir collection. Really unique pieces and I love the finishing especially of the case. I enjoyed Baselworld’s offerings this year. B & R is a favorite of mine so to see some new pieces was fun. What stole the show for me personally though, was FINALLY, the re-release of the Cartier Santos Galbee, with the redesigned hallmark bezel and nifty concealed bracelet swap integration!

  • Johan

I am not able to go to BW but your blog took me there and I felt as if I attended!! As for my favourite. Definitely the Patek Phillippe Aquanaut Chrono. The orange accent colour does it for me. A very attractive, bold watch.

  • Zane Domke

Baselworld as a whole was just pure eye-candy as it was the first time I ever attended. Tons and tons of watches that I liked were there, but my favourites had
to be the vintage inspired Omega 1948 Seamasters. I love vintage pieces, and found these to be like a hidden gem among all the watches at the show.

  • Andrew Darbyshire

My favourite watch featured at Basel Word this year was the Patek Phillippe Aquanaut, lots of great new watches featured, but there were also far too many re-worked ‘limited editions’!

  • Mr. Snrub

    Zenith Defy Classic
Just a super clean, modern look three-hander. Oh, and the bracelet looks as good as the watch.

  • Lukas

The watch I find most interesting among those introduced at Basel World is Nomos Glashutte Autobahn. It’s clean, simple design It’s fresh and original. When it comes to other brands at Basel, I wasn’t impressed – to many overcomplicated watches.

  • Richard Scheperman

Baselword 2018 was a treat, a notable second place for me is the 1948 Omega seamaster — a timeless piece.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Magic.
Bold, red, innovative. The entirely red ceramic is simply stunning and unique, I’m glad they did not stray off the traditional Big Bang model, though.

  • Kevin Dodge

Loved, loved, loved the Grand Seiko’s. Platinum with blue dials, classy time piece.

  • x2jneat

I didn’t catch too much about the show this year except to hear that they are narrowing their offerings. I’m interested to see how this plays out over the next few years (…) I’m picking the new GMT Pepsi. Can’t wait until we get Coke in’19.

  • George Flammer

Didn’t catch much of the show but my favorite was the new Rolex’s specifically Rolex’s GMT on jubilee. My collection now is not worth very much having just finished school but I would like to start with a Rolex soon and work my way up into some of the more prestigious/sought after timepieces

  • JWP

These are interesting watches to say the least. I like the boldness of them. They will surely be conversation starters, even with people that aren’t watch enthusiasts. From Baselworld I like the Oris Big crown Propilot Alarm. Just a beautiful watch with a useful complication.

  • ivan j

The Citizen Caliber 0100 Eco-Drive Movement, a true technological achievement really stood out. I also liked Tudor GMT and I gor the impression that smaller dimensoon watches are making a comeback

  • Josh Chessman

Would have loved to be at the actual show but I’m pretty sure that would not have made it easier to choose just one.

  • Manzur Dan

For me Nomos Autobahn is the new release that stood out, I love Nomos as an medium priced brand with high quality watches.

  • Matt

Gotta go with the Tudor 58. Though I wish it had been the Pelagos that was slimmed down.

  • benden99

Love the new root beer Rolexes! The show had a ton of great pieces too.

  • markusp

for me it’s the Breitling Navitimer Super 8 – a simple yet extraordinary watch. the dial is amazing. in 2015 i was visiting Baselworld. it was a great pleasure for me to talk with the some of the AHCI members.

  • 35,000 Feet

    Very cool design

  • Alfred

What’s not to love about the Breitling Navitimer Super 8? Sleek, dark tones for a diver watch. Love the hand design. The beautiful partnership between Tudor and Breitling to make the Tudor MT5612. A little big for my wrist, but I’d love to wear that proudly on special occasions.

  • Lucian Virciu

Such a beautiful watch. I love the colours combination. I am a Grand Seiko guy, all the way.

  • jimley815

My favorite has to be the Baselworld 2018. As far as favorite, I’m going with the retro Casio G Shock GMWB-5000. Only thing greater would be if they had a model with a calculator.

  • David

I was relatively pleased with the Basel world offerings. With a reduced number of participants it felt more focused. I’m running with the Oris Aquis Date. I love the watch, but more importantly appreciate how Oris have affordable, yet genuinely luxury pieces.

  • hawaiicanal89

Being unable to have gone to Baselworld 2018 this year (or any year, really) I’ve gotten all my news and previews from the internet and your blog. I’d have to say the Devil Diver from Bulova was my favorite. Not too many people liked it, but I think it’s got a good, bold look and a cool name to boot.

  • George Oed

Well the watch you are giving away has a nice feature of a Titanium Case and a Multi-Layer Sandwich Dial! Both of these features add nice touches making it Lighter and giving it a Cleaner Look!
I did not make it to Baseworld 2018, but I was able to look at the watches on the Internet! There were some very nice timepieces at the event as always, so it was hard to pick just one that stood out!
The Omega Seamaster Diver 300 M TITANIUM TANTALUM LIMITED EDITION!
Omega Celebrates 25 Years with a complete make over inside and out, but keeps it’s Water Feel and gets Advanced Materials with Updated Models!

  • Robert Carson

The favourite for me this year is perhaps an odd choice: the Longines Heritage Skin Diver. The show featured lots of cool watches; interesting concepts, natural extensions of watch-makers brands, and some cool ideas from new people. I liked the 50’s inspiration, and the practical simplicity (not to mention the 65 hour power reserve!) of the Longines. What stood out the most for me about this piece is that I found myself wanting one…which is a first for me looking at Longines, which I’ve never been a big fan of.

  • bert gillespie

The Frederique Constant hybrid looked interesting at this yr’s BW. Glad to see that Amir is at 42mm for my wrist that works ;o)

  • Bill Mallory

Had not heard of Amir. Great looking watch.

  • Oliver

I followed Baselworld on the social networks and I found it much better than on 2017, more innovations and not just the same boring designs, thumbs up for rolex new models.

  • j4m3z

My favorite dream watch is the Omega Seamaster 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer. I like it because its a stylish and a timeless classic watch which can be worn at any occasion. The show is outstanding because it gives a chance for me to appreciate the different watch manufacturers latest offerings and gives me some insight of the future of watch making.

  • chris

Bremont MB11 a truely outstanding British company design and history. I am attending Basel 2019 and looking forward to the Breitling arena.

  • treefroga1

I didn’t make the show but I love the new Grand Seikos. They are all around beautiful.

  • markahaviland

Stunning watch face on this one. A few years ago, I worked with a Turkish man named Amir. this will make me think of him.

  • DBoy

I couldn’t make the show itself to I am relegated to assorted coverage. My favorite standout from Baseworld 2018 has to be the Glashütte Sixties. It just stood out to me as simple, elegant, and stands out without being complicated or flashy. The vintage font of the numerals, that green-to-black dial, and the black calfskin band and stainless steel case all come together just right to make a watch I want to wear daily. It’ll tell you the time, and then intrigue you take a closer look at the details.

  • Gecko Brothers

I was a kickstarter supporter for this watch. I love how they can give one out free considering there are a ton of us who never got a watch we paid for. The people who did get them didn’t get the ones they paid for since they ran out of most of them in a ordering snafu. So well over a year after they came out to a limited few supporters I still have not received one or a refund. AMIR WATCHES IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vignesh R.Puvanesuaran

    Nice looking watch.. cheers!

  • Trevor Hirst

I loved the new tudor black bay fifty-eight. I think the size is better for people like me with smaller wrists, the styling is purge vintage sexy, and the slight gilt adds to the charm. It’s on my list.

  • Brandon Broussard

I’ve never had a designer watch before, this would be so sweet to start me off!

  • peacesun

My favorite watch from Baselworld 2018 is the Longines Heritage Chronometer with hands that are deep blue and an oversized seconds hand and case. It’s a classic, simple and a reissue. It could grace the arm of a seafaring traveler. According to Time + Tide team, the show had three trends: two-toned watches, GMT and dual timers and smaller case sizes.

  • Andre Braz

I love Longines Heritage chrono line. I’ve been in Basel in 2015, huge exhibition… Any watch enthusiast must be there one day.

  • Lemuel

Woahh I love the watch especially the combination of colors. That dial tho and the hands was very cool.

  • Mike F

Nomos Glashutte’s Autobahn Neomatik pays attention to their customers demographics. They brought a timepiece with bright clean lines, an understated design, with a straight forward, easy to see dial, which truly matters for the – soon to retire boomer. I want a watch that quietly says I did okay in my career, and now I am enjoying the good life. The Neomatik says that.

  • William

Baselworld to me is like the NY Car Show it’s where the big players want to debut their latest and create buzz to generate interest and sales. Not in a bad way – that’s marketing. I didn’t attend but looked at coverage and, as always, I wish I could attend to see so many fine time pieces in person and engage in conversation with like minded folks about a topic we all enjoy. I personally fount the Omega Seamaster 300 release as the most interesting. I have Omega on my wish list of brands to acquire and this latest is in tough competition with the Grey Side of the Moon that has been at the top of my list.

  • Mihai Visan

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph for me its the ultimate watch

  • Émanuel Grenier-Benoit

My favorite is the Longines Heritage Chronometer !

  • victor chandra

untl now, i never care about watches. and when i search giveaway on google. “ablogtowatch.com” appear on my screen, i click that link, read this post and now i know about “the watches world” a little bit. You ask us to tell about how we feel about the BASEWORLD 2018 SHOW. and thruthfully i dont know until i read this post. so i will tell my thinking about that show from this website post at (https://www.ablogtowatch.com/tag/baselworld-2018/).

overall, all the watches from that show really amazing me. but visual always come first when you make a decission.
the second thing is function, watch not only for showing clock time, for my preference i will choose the watch which atleast had date on them.
third the durability, you dont want your watch easily broken or malfunction in short of time after you buy, isn’t it ?. if it can last forever, i will choose it. while i cant always use it, atleast it will become my collection.

at least but not the last. SIMPLE always BETTER. i need to know the time fast, with quick glance and simple design from the watch i must know the time correctly (but this is just my preference, i know different people will choose design, brand or anything from watch they wear)

so from my point, there are 3 watches on my mind right now:
-ROLEX DAY-DATE 40 WHITE GOLD METEORITE DIAL 228239 WATCH
    -MAURICE LACROIX AIKON AUTOMATIC WATCH
    -SEIKO PRESAGE SJE073 WATCH

first is SEIKO SJE073, i like the simple design, but it lack of color variation, all white. if he make the background on the ring more darker, atleast not snow color. i will surely pick this watch. but they go with snowflake concept so i cant argue with that. and they even make this watch limited(only 1881). i hope they sell well.

now is best of 2. ROLEX DAY-DATE 40 surely had day and date function. so if i had this watch, i dont need to look at my phone again when wake up(lol). the design of watch is really awesome(fyi:thats a real diamond inside your watch, if you need money fast, just break the glass and sell that tiny thing, lol just kidding). this watch also provide +/- 2 sec accuracy per day, how can you tell that not amazing.

so the last watch is MAURICE LACROIX AIKON, this watch lack of “day” point, only “date” not like rolex. and not as simple like seiko. but you know what, i will choose this watch for this giveaway event. because one thing, he had BLACK COLOR. just see how elegan that watch. with 42mm, its really fit for my asian hand. the design is simple, but its catching my eyes. dont forget you can bring this watch everywhere because its basicly a sport watch. if i had $2000 to spare, i will buyu this watch immedietly. to ablogtowatch.com, why you make me dive in watches world. now i really want maurice lacroix redone watch.

and for amir watches, its like i dont like your watch, but for me simple is better. its dont mean like i dont want your watch, if i won this giveayaws, i surely use and keep this “Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic” until my times end. and i loves to have your “classima silver” if i dont win this giveaways. consider it as a gift to me for entering The World of Watches 🙂 . i am sure the uniques from your nomadic empire watch will make million people want your watch.

thats all, and i hope i win this event, because till now i never had a watch, i am really want my first watch will make unforgettable memory in my life.
    regards.

  • Darren Williams

The Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut Chrono

  • Lemuel

I think the Stellar of the show is the New Tudor Black Bay fifty eight especially that it was thin and they reduce the case diameter size which was great for a divers watch (I think others love it as well). I also love the color combination that they brought up to the watch piece… Runner ups for the show for me were the re-issue of Omega Seamaster 1948 (like that one), Omega Dark side of the moon, Rolex Pepsi GMT Master II, Longines Heritage Collection (especially: PVD LD, Skindiver, military watch with faux patina), and lastly Grand Seiko Blue Ceramic (mesmerize by the look of the dial)

  • Lemuel

I forgot to comment with regards to the last question “how I felt the show overall?”… Actually its nice to see the history and art of horology as well as the advancements at baselworld each year. I think I would say that 2018 proves a lot for watch companies… from showcasing their heritage and their pursue to further advance the technology with respect to horology… There is a rumor that 2019 will be the last baselworld, because some companies are shifting already to SIHH but still I am hoping for the best for the baselworld event in the future…overall I would say that the baselworld this year was great…

  • Gabi Balas-Baconschi

Since I love very much the moonphase complication, Meistersinger with Lunascope, really catch my attention this year at Basel.
Thanks for another great giveaway !

  • Erik Sorensen

I was most struck by the Tudor 1926. It’s honestly the first Tudor I’ve seen that made me look twice at the brand.

  • David Fisher

I enjoy vintage watch design and there were a number of entries from Baselworld that I would otherwise mention but for me the standout was the Olympos from Zodiac.

  • Allen Tran

My favorite favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018 was the Bamford x TAG Heuer Monaco! This watch stood out to me due to the forged carbon case and stealth black colorway, but was subtle in the use of the aqua blue coloring for the dials. The show overall was average as the coverage of rolex’s reintroduction of the Pepsi GMT overshadowed many other interesting debuts. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5fed6952f86611c7b7c5e097ac29f90be247a329bb1a1068effe93eb51b676fc.jpg

  • Easy Quindo

Jacob & Co. Astronomia Maestro. Insane.

  • mmurayam

I loved the Omega Seamaster 1948 special editions. So classy and clean!

  • Tristan Smith

I loved the new Tudor Black Bay, with it’s retro inspired styling and clean look.

  • WhiskersInCalif

Aha… my favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018,
Sadly I can only comment from what I can see reviewed on the web.
the Seiko Prospex SPB077 black bezel and stem at 5 o’clock where it should be on a largish watch.
The Longines Heritage Skin Diver caught my eye… I keep looking for an automatic that reminds me
of the one my parents gave me but is impervious enough to not leak perspiration and fail.
Innovation… golly, The Citizen Caliber 0100 Eco-Drive Movement, Accurate To ±1 Second Per Year!

As for the show overall: if you have to ask it is in one word “Baselworld.”

  • JohnBoy of Alaska

Hmmmmm My fave at Basel this year? That is a tough one. I am sold on the Monta SkyQuest. Sweet GMT with a great price point. Swings and hits far above its weight.

  • quang tran

Starstruck by the Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut Chrono.

  • Mika Vääräniemi

TAG Heuer Monaco Bamford in Aquablue. I liked Speedmaster DSOTM Apollo8 also. Black and edgy.

  • Andrei Mihaila

I couldn’t follow all the new releases but I love the Longines Heritage Diver in black PVD. Its a gorgeous watch and I would love to have it. Actually its on my grail list along with the Rolex Explorer.

  • Aaron

The new Rolex GMT stood out to me, particularly with the jubilee bracelet. Unfortunately, I don’t have to patience for a waiting list, so I know I’ll never pick one up. It’s still nice to look at though. Baselworld, in general, was covered nicely by the media outlets. I look forward to learning more about the new watch releases.

  • Chip Campbell

Nice set of watches; the rotating grille in front of the hour and minute hands might reduce legibility? Maybe not, in actual practice. I’m kinda confused about the Kazakhstan reference. Is any assembly done there? Or is it just a design reference?

  • penemio

I loved the Bulgari Octo Finissimo because it is so aesthetically pleasing, refined and luxurious. Unfortunately I was unable to be there in person.

  • Robyn B.

My favorite is the the Omega Seamaster 1948 special edition.

  • kunal verma

I loved the Bulgari Octo Finissimo because it is automatic.

  • Darren Scrubb

My choice is Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut Chrono. This truly is a watch I want to own.

  • Antonio Hernando

I love the new Bell&Ross 03-92. It continues the fantastic pilot-style of the brand with a new modern view. Hope someday can go to Baselworld to see this beauties by myself.

My fave watch is the new Rolex GMT, with its new calibre and the Pepsi bezel, i love it. I think overall in general, Baselworld 2018 was covered nicely by the medias.

  • James D

The new NOMOS Autobahn Neomatik really renewed my interest in the brand. Keeping their simplicity but adding enough design innovation to add something different to the range. Overall I was impressed by the show this year, especially from some the flagship brands, like the new Patek Philippe 5968A Aquanaut, those orange pops!!!

  • sunder waran

My favourite was the updated version of the deepsea with new improved wide bracelet.Overall i quite happy with Basel 2018 but quite disappointed with Seiko brand with no standout watch from them and look like their becoming static with their watch lineup.

  • Milos …

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic took my attention, there is something creepy about that watch. Baselworld is always a spectacle, it can never disappoint watch lovers.

I like the Rolex Day Date in meteorite. I like meteorite dials, they make unique pieces. There were some interesting pieces. I like that the overall case size, in general, are going back down & lower priced pieces are being made.

    I Missed The Baselworld 2018

However I Really Love the the Rolex

    GMT Master II in “Oystersteel”

    With Caveat ,

I Really Don’t Like The Colored Bezel ,

And I Would Change the Strap Back to its Original

Same with the Tudor Black Bay GMT. Again a Colored Bezel

But This time , Rightly , With Its Original Strap .
    .

    .
I Adore most of these Timepieces ,

But My Winner The , Tudor Black Bay GMT
    .
    .
    .

  • The Nomos Tangente Neomatik with the new DUW 6101 caliber calls to me, I absolutely love the way they’ve put together the date indicator on it in a whole new way. The show overall is like it is every year for me: depressing, because all the cool new watches on display are expensive pieces I will never be able to own.

about my favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018 is GMT Master II in “Oystersteel”, I think it stood out because like The Colored Bezel, and about the show overall, it is case size, in general, are going back down & lower priced pieces are being made.

  • Shammy K

The Credor Spring Drive Eichi II.
The reason it stood out was its simplicity, pedigree and the level of finish.

  • Ahmed Talal Khan

Rolex Day Date in meteorite with a contemporary style but yet unique material.

  • fireswan

Anything magical. I like the expansion of moving diamond sparkle in ladies watches started by Chopard Happy Diamonds years ago. The Perrelet line and VanCeef & Arpels are the obvious embracers, but the theme is coming into other lines as well. I hope to see more unexpected sparkle every year…

I really like the Omega Seamaster 1948 Small Seconds – it reminds me so much of my grandfathers watch.

  • Tim Mai

My favorite watch featured at Baselworld 2018 is Rolex GMT Master II in “Oystersteel”. Because its Pepsi bezel & lower priced for average man. I like the Basel show overall.

  • Tien Tran

My favorite watch is Bamford x TAG Heuer Monaco! Because of forged carbon case and stealth black colorway. The show overall was overshadowed by coverage of Rolex Pepsi GMT so didn’t see much else

  • Rafael Lirio

My fav was Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight because it looks so classy with this black dial and gold accents. About the show overall is great that I can see what is trending and take a look on what might be the promises of the year.

  • Tim Tran

My fav was Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic. Incredible understated & thin watch. Baselworld is always a spectacle, it can never disappoint watch lovers.

  • Mai Van

My favorite is the the Omega Seamaster 1948 special edition. Only saw some youtube of Basel which was exiting that I want to go next year

  • Thom

My favorite watch is the Longines Heritage Chronometer with an oversized seconds hand and case. It’s a classic, simple and a reissue.
Baselworld is always a spectacle, it can never disappoint watch lovers.

  • Timmai Van

Baselworld is always a special atmosphere that needs to be experienced! Rolex Day Date in meteorite with a unique material is my fav!

  • Thomas T.

I liked the new Bell&Ross 03-92. It continues the fantastic pilot-style with a new modern view. I like the Basel show overall especially seeing all the youtube

Baselworld 2018 was the launch of an array of smartwatches from the leading brands.I loved the Hublot bigband referee smartwatch featuring smartness in the rugged big bang case.

    re entered:
until now, i never care about watches. and when i search giveaway on google. “ABTW” appear on my screen, i click that link, read this post and now i know about “the watches world” a little bit. You ask us to tell about how we feel about the BASEWORLD 2018 SHOW. and thruthfully i dont know until i read this post. so i will tell my thinking about that show from this website post at ABTW.
overall, all the watches from that show really amazing me. but visual always come first when you make a decission.
the second thing is function, watch not only for showing clock time, for my preference i will choose the watch which atleast had date on them.
third the durability, you dont want your watch easily broken or malfunction in short of time after you buy, isn’t it ?. if it can last forever, i will choose it. while i cant always use it, atleast it will become my collection.

at least but not the last.

ROLEX DAY-DATE 40 surely had day and date function. so if i had this watch, i dont need to look at my phone again when wake up(lol). the design of watch is really awesome(fyi:thats a real diamond inside your watch, if you need money fast, just break the glass and sell that tiny thing, lol just kidding). this watch also provide +/- 2 sec accuracy per day, how can you tell that not amazing.

so the last watch is MAURICE LACROIX AIKON, this watch lack of “day” point, only “date” not like rolex. and not as simple like seiko. but you know what, i will choose this watch for this giveaway event. because one thing, he had BLACK COLOR. just see how elegan that watch. with 42mm, its really fit for my asian hand. the design is simple, but its catching my eyes. dont forget you can bring this watch everywhere because its basicly a sport watch. if i had $2000 to spare, i will buyu this watch immedietly. to ablogtowatch.com, why you make me dive in watches world. now i really want maurice lacroix redone watch.

and for amir watches, its like i dont like your watch, but for me simple is better. its dont mean like i dont want your watch, if i won this giveayaws, i surely use and keep this “Amir Watches Nomadic Empires Automatic” until my times end. and i loves to have your “classima silver” if i dont win this giveaways. consider it as a gift to me for entering The World of Watches 🙂 . i am sure the uniques from your nomadic empire watch will make million people want your watch.

thats all, and i hope i win this event, because till now i never had a watch, i am really want my first watch will make unforgettable memory in my life.
    regards.

My favourite watch was the Rolex GMT- Master II in gold.mostly because I’m a simple man who loves tradition. Baselworld is and always has lived up to it’s status as the premier watch show giving the watch industry the ideal stage to show off the latest the industry has to offer. 2018 was no exception. the Rolex collection and the rise of smart watches was the highlight for me.
