The Bradley was named for Lt. Bradley Snyder who lost his sight in an explosion while serving in Afghanistan. Snyder refused to let this get the best of him and trained as a swimmer, resulting in winning two gold and one silver medal at the 2012 Paralympics in London. It was him, and others like him, that inspired the design and creation of this watch. No one is suggesting that the Bradley is high horology but it is a fantastic and practical design concept that may open the door for visually impaired individuals to enjoy that which we hold most dear while still being something that most people would want to wear regardless of their ability to see.
Just think, you’d finally be able to check the time repeatedly during a boring date or business meeting without appearing rude! There are twenty-seven days remaining on the project’s Kickstarter where you can currently get your order in for one of the first Bradley watches for a reasonable $128 USD. Hopefully we’ll be able to get our hands on one for an in-depth review once they go into production. The Bradley – Kickstarter
