One look at the Hublot catalog, and you’ll quickly see that along with more modern materials such as ceramic, carbon fiber, sapphire, SAXEM, and so on, the brand is also inclined to go the classic route when it comes to embellishments: precious gemstones. Among the novelties presented at LVMH Watch Week 2024, the Hublot Spirit of Big Bang 32mm Jewelry watches may be the smallest of the bunch, but they’re no doubt the flashiest, flaunting cases and dials paved entirely with diamonds or rainbow-colored gemstones.

Hublot offers the tonneau-shaped cases of these bejeweled Spirit of Big Bang watches in either stainless steel or 18k King Gold, and accounting for the different gem treatments and strap options, there are a total of six variants; the cases of all the references measure 32mm across, 11.40mm thick, and are water resistant to 100 meters deep.

The first four are the full diamond versions, set with 479 brilliant-cut diamonds (2.1 total carats) spanning across the case, lugs, bezel, and dial. The dials are home to the majority of diamonds, 339 to be exact, arranged to only make room for the applied hour markers and date window at 6 o’clock. The center of the dial hosts the hours, minutes, and seconds hand — the first two coated with luminous material for in-the-dark reading, and the latter furnished with the customary H-shaped counterweight. The steel and King Gold diamond pavé Spirit of Big Bang 32mm Jewelry watches are either paired with white or black rubber straps, accompanied by color-matched ceramic details on their “sandwich” constructed cases. The watches benefit from Hublot’s “One-Click” system for easy strap changes. The steel versions have steel deployant clasps whereas the King Gold versions have King Gold and black-plated steel deployant clasps.

The remaining two Spirit of Big Bang models are rainbow versions, featuring 493 gemstones consisting of rubies, amethysts, topazes, tsavorites, and sapphires in pink, yellow, orange, and blue. The barrel-shaped bezel is set with 58 rectangular baguette-cut gemstones, interrupted only by six H-shaped titanium screws. Note the grouped arrangement of the colors, which look like they’re extending from the dial out to the bezel and finally reaching the case. Both the steel and King Gold rainbow models are fitted with black rubber-lined multicolored alligator straps, equipped with either full steel or King Gold/black plated steel deployant clasps to match the case metal.

All of the new-for-2024 Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Jewelry watches run on Caliber HUB1120, a self-winding movement that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and supplies about 40 hours of power reserve. As expected, the movement is visible via the barrel-shaped sapphire window on the caseback.
