Life is simply too short to be boring. The watch strap industry has barely changed for a century and we thought it was time for a unique twist. From the combination of stylish and natural materials to the innovative functionality, our team has considered every detail to create a watch strap that is as advanced as the watches they connect to.

Even by SteelConnect standards, the Remod X Band is creative in the extreme. The line of watch straps, geared towards Apple Watch wearers, is completely reversible with a sophisticated Reversible Twist Link (simply “pull, twist, lock”) that allows wearers to change up their style in seconds.

In addition, the universal Jump Buckle enables the tightening of straps on either side. Our team’s attention to detail is obsessive, so it should be no surprise that we developed a Jump Buckle mechanism to intuitively shift the pin lock from one side to the other side. As a result (no matter how you twist it), your watch will feel perfect on your wrist.

We change our appearance every day. Why shouldn’t your watch have the same flexibility?

Even considering the very simple process of connecting the strap to your watches, we want Remod X to be enjoyed to its full potential by everyone. That’s why we developed our Dual Quick Release function, which is designed for left and right handed individuals to easily swap from one watch strap to the other.

This time we collaborated with leading Swiss company Braloba to manufacture our entire line. Braloba merged with passion and the will to create the best possible product. Braloba is a high quality vendor of watch bands, bracelets, and straps for both the classic watch industry and the growing smart watch industry. As a premium supplier, they strive to produce top-notch quality only and therefore strictly use high quality leather, textile, rubber, silicone, and nylon in their production processes. From their capability and experiences, we are confident that the final pieces landing on your wrist will be fascinating.

Our main body is manufactured using high-performance fluoroelastomer rubber that is also used for numerous applications in the aerospace, automotive, and industrial industries. Fluoroelastomer is highly resistant to heat, oil, chemicals, and wear. Its benefits include reliability, comfort, stability, and it’s even dust proof! These new Remod X straps are made from the absolute softest and most flexible fluoroelastomer you can imagine, a familiar favorite to those who have experienced the OEM Apple Watch Sport Strap. Pure, natural, and chemical-free, Remod X straps are hypoallergenic.

All the metal parts are manufactured from stainless steel 316, which is used in the construction of medical instruments and jewelry. Stainless steel 316 is strong and extremely resistant to corrosion from sea water, aqua regia, and chlorine. Function is important, but form must equally be taken into consideration, and so the Remod X design incorporates a flawless, flush design on every element of the watch case and lugs. Available in more than ten different materials and color options, every detail of a Remod X strap is considered with regards to form and function.

The Remod X watch strap comes in a variety of looks; combining materials to push the boundaries of style even further. Thanks to a collaboration with Swiss company, Braloba, Remod X straps mix together a variety of distinct, premium materials including Horween Leather, Italian Leather, Japan Kurabo Mill Denim, Ligneah Wood Fabric, Cordura Engineered Fabric, and fluoroelastomer rubber.

We aim to bring new life to the watch strap industry by drawing inspiration from those who came before us. The Reverso is probably the most recognized reversible watch, however another brand got there first, with the Universal Geneve Cabriolet. More recently, in 2014, Patek Philippe released a double-faced reversible wristwatch for its 175th anniversary. Pricing starts at £29 and you can learn more by visiting our Kickstarter campaign here.

To quote Raymond (probably, “Moving On” and “Clunk”

    No additional informatio required.

    • Joe

Raymond didn’t even make an appearance because of you 😉

      • Gokart Mozart

Where is he and Marius as well ? Have they gone on holiday (together)?

Have not seen them in a bit.

I bet David and Ariel will have been glad there were no comments from Marius about the hard to get hold of watches lol.

        • Joe

I was wondering the exact same thing. Marius hasn’t been seen in a while!
Must be a boys’ trip 🙂

  • Horum Positivium

I never got the urge to have multiple straps for my watches; and I never got the urge to try after-market straps either; nor have I ever wanted to change the colour and style of my watch strap to indicate my mood – other parts of my body can do this just fine; and all my watches now come with bracelets exclusively because I’m starting to find leather and rubber uncomfortable to wear for too long; and I don’t own an Apple watch and probably never will. So perhaps this sponsored post isn’t entirely aimed at me.

  • SuperStrapper

Haig Club? The choice for well-tier duty free scotch says quite a lot. It’s the Apple Watch of scotch.

    • Travis Cannata

I’ll have you know, Haig Club is a preferable brunch Scotch. Especially if your partial to a light scotch in a Bloody Mary.

      • SuperStrapper

Tried it once, wasn’t impressed. Quite flat and lacking flavour complexity. I’ve only ever seen it at duty free shops in airports (full disclosure I’ve never actually looked for it) and their brand muppet is David Beckham.

So yes, I’m sure it makes for a good mixer!

        • Travis Cannata

Fair enough. I’m not actually sure that I’ve had it by itself. I’ve also not actually seen it at a Duty Free but I’m also in the US, and we have a Jonnie Walker problem.

          • SuperStrapper

I’ve never heard of a whisky Bloody Mary. But up here we drink ceasars not Bloody Mary’s (the secret is clam).

When it comes to company-grade scotch (blended) the only answer is grouse. Which has a few very acceptable selections by the way. Good blenders like grouse have a researchable lineage and they use very nice scotches in their blends. In fairness so do Jonnie Walker and Chivas, but in my opinion grouse takes the win in that category.

          • Travis Cannata

I do love a good Grouse. Issue is it’s hard to find in Tampa. I typically go Kavlan if I’m looking for a sipper.

          • SuperStrapper

Let me check my network. I have FLA in my list but all oceanside I think… (condo in Daytona and golf vacations are usually south oceanside) I’ll see what might be reasonable distance from the gulf side.

Also, Royal Mile Whisky will ship to you (not to me because Canadian) and they put up decent prices depending on time and product. But they have the rares and impossible-to-finds.

          • Travis Cannata

I’ve found Grouse at a local Leukins Liquors, but that’s about it. It seems to be season around here. Caters to the fall.

          • SuperStrapper

            Snowbird season. Makes sense.

I’m hearing that total wine & more Tampa stocks standard grouse and smoky black grouse.

But I’m still digging for access to grouse oddities in your area.

          • Travis Cannata

Total Wine in Countryside? Or downtown Tampa?

          • SuperStrapper

…not sure my man. My guy just responded quick to say that total wine is a stockist so I guess both locations?

I’ll ask and see what comes back.

          • Travis Cannata

I’ll have to swing through this weekend and see if I can find it.

          • Dakota Dennison

Try Compass Box Hedonism – very good for the price

          • SuperStrapper

I really should. The Peat Monster shield me from the label but I should correct that. Afterall, Bruichladdich is easily one of my favourite distilleries despite not really enjoying the octomore.

Thanks for the comment, really appreciate to hear from you guys. As a watch lovers, we are trying to make things differently by giving more option to personalize. Our thoughts and vision for the straps are wild, we are willing to try on every material we could hands on. With our current resources we are not able to stock up all the straps in multiple material and colours. Kickstarter being a platform for us to engage with people and know what material individual like more. The Japan Denim, Natural flexible wood and Glow in the dark material are all new in the watch strap arena. Please continue to feedback, your sharing and thoughts would greatly help us to improve. Thanks to the watch community. Cheers!

        Trying to be helpful…

        1) Wondering whether you need a range of sizes before you post on ABTW? Most readers here probably aren’t interested in the Apple Watch so to arouse any interest, it should be able to fit other lug widths.

        2) As SuperStrapper pointed out, it’s not clear that this is for “standard watches”. Strap dimensions should also be easier to find on the KS page.

        3) I don’t know what ABTW traffic is like but I think most of the commenters here are hard-core regulars into (or interested in) higher end watches (some even turning their noses up at Rolex) :-). With that in mind, it might be hard to “sell” a rubber/denim strap to this crowd. That said I have no idea whether the non-commenters might be interested in these.

        4) As a young company it might be worthwhile considering non-traditional materials other than leather. Eg one of the very recent posts here (on ABTW) is about Baume experimenting with cork as a strap material.
The Ligneah is headed in the right direction but I see mixed messages when seen together with the leather option.
I may be in the minority here but I have stopped buying leather goods where I can avoid them.

        My 2c…

    • Jasonlim

The strap is made affordable so that more people are able to try it out. It is now £29 or approximately $39.00, shy below the Apple Watch $49.00 sport strap. We want it to be innovative and quality, so our team took some times to look through the materials. They are all reputable manufacturer, well made and some with more than 100 years of history, operation and experiences. Check out our campaign page for more detailed information. For instance Kurabo Denim is the first mill in Japan to manufacture Denim. The one we using is actually a Salvage Denim. Sorry for being so long winded. Hope you will like it. Thanks

      • SuperStrapper

Oh I know the denim, I have a pair of Baldwin jeans. My point was that you are saying the straps are hypoallergenic and they are not. Your rubber may be but the secondary materials arent. For someone with an actual need or want for an actually hypoallergenic strap, the entire strap would have to qualify.

        • Jasonlim

Oh sorry for that, i guess our writer mention it wrongly in the article. In our campaign the hypoallergenic only mention specially for the Fluroelastomer material. I understand what you meant by it need to be for the entire watch. The whole explanation is only to show the quality of the used of material and how it is similar to the original Apple Watch Sport Strap. Will check if either of the material that we are able to certified as guy hypoallergenic. Cheers!

  • Scott

Ok, this is awesome. I am way more excited about this than any actual watches I’ve seen on Kickstarter. I don’t have an Apple Watch, but would definitely get one of these for standard lugs (looks like they work with any 22mm lug watch).
I actually went to the Kickstarter page, which is something I’ve never done before. I didn’t back it, because I don’t really understand Kickstarter and don’t want to wait 4 months for delivery. But I’ll buy one when they go into production.
It might be the most gimmicky one, but I actually like the idea of a glow in the dark strap. That’s just fun.

  • commentator bob

I have been looking for a strap that lets me flip over the leather part to get sweat stains on it, and then flip it over again to show them off.
