GIVEAWAY: Nivrel Deep Ocean GMT Automatic Watch

GIVEAWAY: Nivrel Deep Ocean GMT Automatic Watch nivrel

I've always liked German Nivrel's dive watches. The newest one is the Deep Ocean GMT; a mechanical GMT watch with a elegantly purposeful design. The steel case is 43mm wide with a rotating 24 hour bezel and black dial with easy to read hour markers and hands coated in SuperLumiNova. It isn't too thick at 13mm either. The case has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to an impressive 500 meters.

Inside the Deep Ocean is a base Swiss ETA 2836 automatic GMT movement. With the bezel you can track three separate timezone with the watch. Attached to the Deep Ocean GMT is a steel bracelet, but Nivrel also includes a silicone strap and changing tool. Overall the attractive diver is a good value as well as good performer. Price is 899 Euros (about $1,100 and available Nivrel's website), but you have a change to win one by entering below.

I don't often change straps other than on my watches with rubber straps - I find those easier to do and I get to change the color..

Very nice and would match my Seiko 007 but I can go deeper I also love the metal bracelet which is something I would change on my seiko but not the nivrel

I never change the bands on a new watch. It's part of what made the watch appeal to me. But on vintage purchases, I usually look for a band that better suits my wrist.

I don't usually change watch straps unless they need to be replaced.  That said, I recently put the rubber strap on my Bathys 100F so that I could wear it in the ocean.  The rubber strap is quite comfortable so haven't bothered to change it back.

If metal, I will keep the bands indefinitely. Leather unfortunately donot have a long life on my wrist. I tend to sweat considerably there and within a few years the strap is cracking. Thanks!

I like keeping track of time in more than one time zones.  Maybe I'll be more on time somewhere.  I tend to use whatever strap comes with the watch until it breaks or wears out and then hunt in lots of places for a replcement band that works with my wrist and the style of the watch.

I usually prefer to wear a leather strap on a daily basis as metal bands tend to snag on my hair and despite being a "techie", I prefer an older "low tech"  look for my personal accessories rather than the space age stuff.   It's hard to appear scruffy and shopworn while wearing a cleaning chunk of steel o n your wrist....    Cheers......     ----Mongo

I alter it very seldom and mainly when they do not fit

Most watches <1000€ have terrible straps and I change them to aftermarket ones

For the more expensive watches I tend to remove their original and user something else, ,e.g, should I ever sell it on an original strap seems to go down well  when it's in great condition.

Id keep the original strap unless I needed to change it for a specialized reason like diving a dry suit...

I usually keep the strap provided by the factory. I like it that way.

I like to change straps.  My Rolex Date came with an Oyster bracelet, but I switched to a leather strap. I kept the Oyster bracelet on my Milgauss though.

Awesome diver. It would be cool to have a diver made in Germany.  Depends on the watch.  Lower end ones I go with the strap.  I have a smaller wrist so I find that many watch straps run long and often times make the watch sit funny if there is a deployment clasp.

I never change my watch straps. If the watch appealed to me I bought it for that aspect of the design also. However, if the strap needs to be replaced, then I might consider going with something different.

great looking watch.  I tend to keep the factory band on the watch.

It depends on the style of the watch. Some of the pieces in my collection lend themselves well to a variety of strap styles and colours. Others look best with the original strap or bracelet. I've never heard of Nivrel before, but like the look of the GMT design and will certainly research the brand further.
