You can tell just how large the skeleton is by seeing the relative size of the skulls, which was meant to detach from the spine base to be used as a pocket watch. Even the chain was designed to look like a row of little skulls. The skull would pop open to reveal the watch dial which included more skulls and Roman numerals made out of bones. Overall a very nicely themed timepiece.

Not everyone wants a skeleton sitting on their desk telling “200 year old time.” Though according to the auction page the pocket watch with Berthoud movement still works and is said to come with the original winding key. Of course we haven’t seen this item so we can’t vouch for its authenticity, but the seller does have a 100% positive rating on eBay.
