Lenvino Watch Co. was born in January 2017. Formed by a collective of watch aficionados, the company has a simple concept: to create authentic timepieces that combine traditional watch craftsmanship and vintage design. Its first project was called the World’s First Minimalist Design Rectangular Tourbillon Watch. It achieved funding after 40 days on Kickstarter, raising a total amount of HK$427,860. The young company followed this success with its second project in April 2018, releasing the Japan Automatic Vintage Racing Watch, which was even more successful. After raising more than HK$1.3 million, Lenvino returned to the crowdfunding platform with the Lecronos “Rock for Vintage” Collection.

The name Lecronos is inspired by the word “chronometer” and is a nod to the level of accuracy and precision the company expects from its newest model. The inspiration for the Lecronos “Rock for Vintage” Collection comes from the founders’ shared passion for the musical genre and the styles of that epoch. Several musical features appear in the design of the watch. The case itself is based on the shape of a classic rockabilly microphone, the dial is designed to recall a jukebox, and the caseback takes its cue from a retro speaker.

Inside the case, which is held on the wrist by a quick-change Italian calf-leather strap or Milanese bracelet, is the Seiko NH-35 automatic movement. A self-winding mechanical movement with a hacking function and bi-directional winding system, an accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds a day, an operating speed of 21,600vph, and a power reserve of 40 hours.

To ensure a style for everyone, Lecronos is offering several dial and case color combinations in this new “Rock for Vintage” range. The dials are available in either silver, blue and silver, black and bronze, or black, while the 316L stainless steel case is either uncoated or with a gold or black PVD coating. All cases are topped with a sapphire crystal and are water resistant to 50 meters. For further customization, the calf-leather straps are available in four different colors, which can be fitted to any watch head. The options are navy blue, black, brown, and dark brown.

It is the unusual shape of the case that sets the Lecronos “Rock for Vintage” Collection apart. In addition to the microphone silhouette, the concave bezel that dips down from the case edge to the rim of the sapphire crystal is eye-catching for its novelty. The swooping bezel not only draws attention toward the dial but also protects the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal from knocks and scrapes. On the other side of the watch, a screw-down transparent caseback reveals the beating heart of the watch through the vintage speaker print.

Since the Lecronos “Rock for Vintage” Collection is only available on Kickstarter, the brand is able to cut out the usual markup and offer these unusual timepieces for just $199 USD. Additionally, the first 450 pieces will be individually numbered to commemorate the earliest backers of this project. You can learn more by checking out the official Kickstarter page here. All watches come with a two-year international warranty and free international shipping.
