Jaeger-LeCoultre is pleased to invite aBlogtoWatch readers to join us for an exclusive watchmaking class on December 1st, 2016, at the Penthouse of the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Guests will be invited to sit behind the desk of a Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmaker and observe the assembly and disassembly of one of our in-house calibers. Of course, guests will also be able to perform some of these techniques themselves. It is a rare opportunity to learn some of the steps that go into assembling Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mechanical watches.

Damn, I wish I could visit this party!

  • JLC – you guys better have NYC planned too!

Q: What is the next Jaeger-LeCoultre watch you aspire to own?
    A: the J-SHOCK?

    Nothing ever happens here , : (

They should come to ‘middleofnowhere’ house, in ‘onethreeleggedhorse’ village, ‘The Fens’ England. If you come here, I’ll come. I can bring some friends; we could open up the church vestry, needs a bit of a dust mind, plenty of space.
No need to bother with them fancy places.

    • There’s that old British Legion pub that is abandoned, we could use that for free. Cocktails afterwards under the canopy of the route 322 bus stop, you know, the one with vivid depictions of the female form burnt into it with a Bic lighter.

I know the place. The one where it’s noted on the wall that Tracey did something unseemly for Darren. Also “Gazza 4 Sandra” is in the big love-heart, but someone called Stevo has taken great offence to it because he has written right over it “your (sic) a w*nk*r sez stevo”. (My censoring).

It’s actually a charming place at this time of year. They’re very welcoming of strangers, by the time you’re third generation they’ll even say hello to you in the street.

Fine opportunity if the program works for you geographically…wish I could attend.

Would have been nice to watch in person. Maybe a live cast could be offered in the future for us unlucky ones.

      That’s a Rolex Datejust you’re wearing, isn’t it?

      • Marius

        That’s a good question. In fact, I’m wearing a gold-plated Tag Heuer 1000 quartz.

I was fortunate enough to attend a smaller but similar event in the Netherlands through the JLC boutique in Amsterdam. In didn’t feature the Master Ultra Thin Calendar mechanism, but we did get to work on the simpler movement of a reverso (which is still complicated enough when you’re doing it yourself)
It was really interesting and I had a great time working on the movement and talking to the watchmaker. Thanks again guys!
