The famed Richard Mille RM 011 watch gets yet another limited edition version, this time using a stunningly bold, red “TPT quartz” case for the Richard Mille RM 011 RED TPT Quartz watch. What is TPT quartz? It is a quartz mineral and carbon compound produced by NTPT for mostly boating and racing needs. Richard Mille has worked with the company to develop how they can use the interesting material for watch cases. Richard Mille first introduced a TPT quartz cased-watch earlier in 2015 with the also limited edition RM 27-02 TPT Quartz Rafael Nadal watch.
The Richard Mille RM 011 Red TPT Quartz employs a red-colored TPT quartz material paired with another interesting material which is NTPT carbon. These materials together make the case of the watch. aBlogtoWatch went hands-on with the first Richard Mille NTPT watch here which was the RM 35-01 Rafael Nadal. From boating and racing to tennis…
Nevertheless, the Richard Mille RM 011 “Felipe Massa” watch collection has always been about racing, and this red-colored version is amazing looking. Sure, it will be gloriously expensive, but at least it makes a visually bold statement in addition to being a pretty darn cool timepiece. For years, the Richard Mille RM 011 continues to be the brand’s most iconic model showcasing Richard Mille’s distinctive tonneau-shaped case and skeletonized dial.
The RMAC1 automatic movement inside the Richard Mille RM 011 RED TPT Quartz offers the time, chronograph, and annual calendar with 55 hours of power reserve. It is easily one of the coolest “daily wear” movements around and matched to this stunningly red “carbon/quartz” case material, it will make a few high-end watch lovers very happy. Richard Mille will produce 50 pieces in the limited edition Richard Mille RM 011 RED TPT Quartz watch set. No word on pricing yet, so stay tuned, but the watch will only be available at Richard Mille boutiques. richardmille.com
