This week on the Superlative Podcast, host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by Olivier Gaud, the Founder of Oligo Watches. Ariel starts the show by having Olivier talk about some of the things he has picked up on after listening to past episodes of Superlative before today’s interview, and the two also dive into why Olivier decided to create his brand. Olivier talks about how he wanted to take the big and complicated watches of today and efficiently reduce as much as he could while creating something unique and new. Olivier talks about the minimalizations that are taken in Oligo Watches such as the bands, watch hands, and the discs that he wanted in his designs so badly. Ariel asks for Olivier to expand on the flea markets in Geneva and what makes them special, and Olivier talks about hunting for a special timepiece that he ended up finding for a great price. Ariel also has Olivier tell us what he hopes people think about the customers that they see in the world wearing Oligo watches, and how important curiosity is to the brand, their designs, and their customers. The two move on to the watches of Oligo, while Ariel has Olivier talk about its second model, the FM01. Olivier talks about what the improvements are over the first model, and Ariel comments on the fact that you can sometimes learn more about a company from their second watch as opposed to their first.
