Bamford’s Rolexes are a special breed. Started by George Bamford after attending a dinner party where six other guests had the same Rolex Daytona as his, Bamford became the first company to personalize a range of steel sports watches.  What started out as a basic blackening process for their pieces was upgraded with a secret formula perfected by a highly advanced military grade coating–each finished timepiece is a highly exclusive one-off piece.

Bamford’s Rolex Milgauss withstands incredibly strong magnetic fields with a small Faraday Shield and features a green agate dial with yellow-and-white hands and a black three-link steel bracelet. The signature black strap is the result of a highly scientific PVD coating process that results in a stunning, flawless, almost diamond-hard black finish that completely transforms each timepiece. The Daytona Chrono by Bamford is a celebrity favorite. Sported by David Beckham, it features the original bold black dial with a subtle chronograph display, bright light-blue accents, and a three-link black-steel bracelet.

For those looking for something with a little more traditional, CMT presents The Rolex Oysterdate Manual Wind Watch.  The Oysterdate features a manual wind movement and measures 34mm in size, with a rare and beautiful silver dial and applied silver stick markers to match.  Produced in 1962, this watch features a workhorse Rolex manual movement, which is known as one of the finest manual wind movements Rolex has ever produced. The watch also features a screw-down crown, acrylic crystal, and date aperture at three o'clock. This stunning example comes fitted on a sporty striped nylon strap.

  • I think I have just seen Satan’s Panerai and Big Bird’s Rolex. Interesting collection. Something for every taste (or not).

  • Grinnie Jax

Maybe its just me, but all of them look much cheaper than originally…
P.S. Well, agate Milgauss is a bit better

  • Grinnie Jax Yeah, that is the usual result of “improving” upon time tested design.

“With both of these lines, Moda Operandi ensures that there’s a Rolex out there for every discerning taste. ”

    Snicker.

  • Gabechambers

Riiiiight – everybody has the same watch as you on?maybe think outside the box and buy a watch other than a Daytona ? – I believe there are quite a few choices out there.

  • MarkCarson Don’t miss Cobra Commander’s Bvlgari.

  • Fraser Petrick

    Willy Wonka Rolex next?

I know! Put a red, slobbery Rolling Stone tongue on, say, an IWC. That would be classy.

  • Fraser Petrick

Sorry IWC. Make that a Zenith.

  • Ulysses31

The Milgauss modifications look pretty cool.  Not sure what a Bulgari-branded prostate massager is doing on a watch website, but hey, anything goes.

  • Ulysses31 So that’s what that is. I knew it looked like something a proctologist (or spelunker) might use.

  • MisterDeal

On the one hand, I find what Bamford et al do fairly sacrilegious. On the other, I think a blacked-out Rolex looks fantastic, and I wish Rolex would make one themselves. Rolex has a lot more latitude in the design department than they are flexing (not a profound statement admittedly everyone knows this): they could do a black Daytona themselves, or an all ceramic watch, say, and still maintain the iconic, classic, timeless essence of the brand.

  • LapYoda

The Bamford dial materials are neat, but the not-quite-right fonts and recolored markers and hands make them look like fakes (okay, “homages” to some people).  If I had $26k to spend, it wouldn’t be on a Pimp-My-Daytona special.

  • AccdiModa

Our favorite is the all black Rolex! It’s sleek and sexy design would be the perfect compliment to almost any outfit!
