Girard-Perregaux is a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer with a long and rich history that dates back to 1791 but did not operate under the Girard-Perregaux title until 1852 after multiple watchmaking mergers in Switzerland. Currently, Girard-Perregaux is owned by Kering and located in La Chaux-De-Fonds, Switzerland – a UNESCO World Heritage site for watchmaking. Girard-Perregaux has maintained its watch Manufacture status here for over 200 years.
Girard-Perregaux’s production of high-horology watches has been a constant throughout its history. Girard-Perregaux is most well known for its Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges, a Constant Force Escapement, Girard-Perregaux created the first high-frequency movement and was one of the first to create a watch with an octagonal bezel and integrated steel bracelet as well with its Laureato line.
The Manufacture status Girard-Perregaux has maintained for two centuries is a result of maintaining skilled watchmakers and artisans that can create nearly every component of Girard-Perregaux watches in-house. These Métiers d’Arts include detailed engraving of watch cases and movements, enameling of various components, micro-painting, and production of in-house movements. Girard-Perregaux prides itself on the utilization of modern technology and materials in its watches. Featuring full sapphire or carbon-fiber composite cases, Girard-Perregaux watches come in classical and futuristic designs that are produced under the same roof.
Girard-Perregaux partners with Aston Martin as the official watch of the Cognizant Formula 1 Racing team. Girard-Perregaux also houses bees in the gardens located on the rooftop headquarters as a reminder of its commitment to environmental sustainability. As a member of the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), Girard-Perregaux only utilizes gems from legally certified sources. Girard-Perregaux’s most popular watches are the Laureato and Bridges Collection, and it also produces heritage models.
