ABTW-Ask-The-Audience-Question-v3

People contact aBlogtoWatch on a regular basis to ask us questions, so I think it makes sense for us to do the same with the community. We can learn a lot from one another, and more importantly, I think the people who spend a lot of time reading about, collecting, or simply enjoying watches are curious to know about the tastes, habits, and sentiments of their peers. To that end, we are starting a new series called “Ask The Audience,” where the idea is to present the watch lover community with polls and questions related to their appreciation and consumption of timepieces and information about timepieces.

“Ask the Audience” doesn’t have an agenda, and we aren’t trying to gather information for any particular purpose aside from learning about you, and to help you learn about one another. I am a firm believer in people making their own decisions about what watches to buy, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of value in members of the watch consumer community knowing how their tastes, collections, preferences, and habits measure up with other like-minded souls.

It’s not easy to form simple questions that will elicit meaningful answers, and it also isn’t easy encouraging busy people like you and me to take the time to share information. For that reason, most of the Ask the Audience questions will be in poll format, but we always encourage people to comment on the post below with more detailed feedback.

Moreover, I want Ask the Audience to be a means for the community to share with aBlogtoWatch the types of things you want to know more about, and perhaps the types of things you want to hear a bit less about. We can’t please everyone (I know because I’ve tried), but it is important for myself and the team to probe into the minds of our audience and learn more about the diverse set of people who make it worth writing about watches on a daily basis.

For the first Ask the Audience question, I’d like to raise the very simple question of what types of watch brands are you the most sick of hearing about. This is a very subjective question and there are no better or worse answers. It is simple a question designed to understand the types of products and brands you personally want to hear about less – versus asking you what you want to hear about more. How you answer this question will vary depending on your tastes, buying habits, budget, and experience. If you’d like to explain your answer a bit more, please do so in the comments below.
