Following up on the first Bornova Aegean watch comes the new Bornova Ephesos chronograph, a watch that takes the brand’s design and everyday wearability to a more complicated piece. By offering five dial styles each with unique matching lancet hands, the Ephesos is a dressy chronograph with finishes not ordinarily found at an accessible price.

Bornova understands that most watch buyers who have a limited budget want timeless pieces that are high quality not in just materials and build, but require a movement that can stand the test of time also. The Ephesos Chronograph is outfitted with the Valjoux 7750, a movement that is tried and tested by watchmakers and watch brands that have longer histories and significantly higher price points than Bornova. This movement is an automatic chronograph that has sub-dials at 6, 9, and 12 o’clock and you can find a subtle date window at 6 o’clock as well.

Measuring 42mm in diameter (with a 51mm lug to lug width), the case size is kept to ideal proportions. The watch is available in five styles, either in stainless steel or a rose gold PVD. In stainless steel there are: a white dial model with applied indices and numerals in silver and a matching white date window, contrasted with blue hands; a black dial model with applied indices and numerals in silver with a matching black date window, with silver hands; and a blue dial model with silver numerals and silver hands. In rose gold PVD there is a white dial model with rose gold indices and numerals and a matching white dial date window, with blue hands; and a black dial version also with gold indices, numerals, and date window with gold hands.

The Ephesos Chronograph case will be water-resistant to 50m, done in 316L stainless steel, with double domed sapphire crystal. Coming on a calfskin strap with crocodile graining, every design decision made on this watch was done so with the intention that this is a piece one can wear to work, evening events, and social events with equal ease. Of course, with a movement that will survive anything you can throw at it.
