This week on the SUPERLATIVE podcast, Ariel is joined by Rich Reichbach, founder of vintage watch dealer Time Titans and co-owner of Welsbro Watches. Rich starts out by sharing what it was like growing up with a father who worked as a watchmaker and watch dealer (who was reprimanded during his time at Rolex for being too productive). Rich connects the dots from his self-proclaimed “nerd” interests that led to watches and introduces us to his Time Titans eBay store, which has been selling for close to 20 years. Ariel asks about Rich’s ability to curate his inventory, and how big personal relationships that he has developed over the years benefit his business. Rich gives his advice to those potentially looking to do what he does, and they both talk about how big of a part eBay plays in the industry. They discuss Rich and his wife Katie purchasing and reviving the brand Welsbro, and some of the history behind the brand before it went quiet in the 1970s. Ariel asks about Rich’s vision for the future of the company and its potential trajectory. Listen below or on the player of your choice.

Superlative: Rich Reichbach

Rich Reichbach has been selling vintage and secondhand timepieces for over 20 years, starting with his father, who was a watchmaker, then striking out on his own. He’s sold over 10,000 watches, but that’s not all. A few years ago, he scratched an itch that many watch enthusiasts have: starting his own brand. A lover of vintage watches, he revitalized the defunct Welsbro watches, using as many vintage parts as practical and staying faithful to the retro designs while building wild branding around them.
