While the dial may be what captures your attention, it’s the case’s finishing and the clear attention to detail that will keep you coming back. Measuring an eminently wearable 40mm and just 9.8mm thick, the watch neither overwhelms nor feels too small on the wrist. An easy wear aided by the flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the case plays with finishing and form to create a dynamic experience on the wrist. The round bezel surrounding the cushion-shaped crystal features vertical brushing with a polished bevel. The midcase continues the crisp brushing, with sharp transitions to the refined chamfers running along the edges, including around the case’s flanks. Adding further depth, the octagonal platform between the bezel and the midcase has a brushed top but a subtle polished side.
The watch is completed with a seamlessly integrated stainless steel bracelet, matching the case perfectly. With barely a detectable separation, the tapering H-link bracelet carries the case’s brushing around the wrist, and continues the polished bevel as well. A branded push-button butterfly clasp delivers a thin profile all the way around the wrist. Thanks to quick-release tabs integrated into the case, the bracelet can be quickly swapped out for one of the available rubber straps (a $45 USD add-on), which offer an added level of comfort and style to go with the case’s 50m of water resistance.
The Karl-Leimon Majesty Automatic models are powered by highly regarded and reliable Japanese automatic Miyota 9000 series movements. For the 3HAnd, Karl-Leimon employs the Miyota 9015, while the Open Heart is driven by the Miyota 9029. Both of these calibers feature identical specs: a robust 42-hour power reserve, 28,800 vph, and 24 jewels, with factory accuracy of -10/+30 seconds per day. They feature hand-winding and hacking, ensuring the Majesty Automatic will keep you on time, never having to worry about missing a beat.
