1. The Few Big Companies That Own Most Of The Major Luxury Watch Brands
When I first got into watches and started learning and finding out more about them, one of the things that astounded me most was how much of the industry was actually dominated by a few key players. Most of the brands that you see and love are actually owned by just a few major conglomerates and there are really only a handful of brands left that are still independent. This post summarizes nicely who is owned by who and explains how the industry got into this state.
2. The Watch That Changed My Life: The Jean Daniel Nicolas Two-Minute Tourbillon By Daniel Roth
Watches mean different things to different people. Some like them because they are nice to look at, others treasure them because they are reminders of someone or an important event, and then there are those that have the ability to completely change one’s life. It goes without saying that the Jean Daniel Nicolas Two-Minute Tourbillon is an extremely beautiful watch, but beyond the exquisite dial and finely crafted movement, it is a very interesting story of how a watch changed a man’s life.

4. Are You Being Served?
If well cared for and serviced regularly, modern watches can last many generations. However, servicing is often the last thought on one’s mind when purchasing a new watch, and the act and process of servicing itself can sometimes be a pitfall that requires careful consideration from owners. For example, can the local servicing team tackle that more complicated piece you just purchased, or does it need to be sent back to the manufacturer? How long will the servicing process take? Here’s a broad overview on this topic.

5. BE AWARE: HIGH QUALITY FAKE VINTAGE ROLEX DIALS!!
Vintage Rolex watches are extremely desirable and popular right now, and this has led to an increasing number of fakes. And these fakes can often be incredibly hard to distinguish, because they are what is sometimes known as “frankenstein watches” – watches made using a mishmash of genuine and counterfeit parts. This article shows you some of the differences between genuine and fake vintage Rolex dials and also offers some tips on how you can tell them apart.

6. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: A Collection of Watches
This might seem a tad random, but I did enjoy reading this post very much – I read it in its entirety, every single word, despite the fact that over 30 different watches are discussed in there! It is often said that a man’s choice of watches speaks volumes about the type of person he or she is, and here is a member of Timezone who shared photos of what I presume to be his entire collection of watches, accompanied by witty captions. I trust you will enjoy reading it as much as I did.
