Azimuth was started in Singapore and produces Swiss made watches of a “unique variety.” They also make some more straightforward and appealing military homage watches such as the Bombardier collection – which is a refreshing contrast to the more wild Mr. Roboto and SP-1 Landship type watches.
At 47mm wide, the steel-cased Bombardier VI is the sixth iteration in the brand’s enjoyable aviator watch series. The VI is a decidedly vintage-themed piece with a deep brown dial and aged looking lume. With an almost sterile dial, the Azimuth logo can only be seen in the right light. A destro-style lefty crown is ergonomic given the large size and inside the watch is a restored vintage Fontainemelon ST96-4 manually wound mechanical movement.
