The H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Flyback Chronograph was released this past January and the brand has just launched the new, smaller, and more affordable entry-level Streamliner Centre Seconds in a new “Matrix Green” dial. This pared-down time-only variant sports the very attractive and comfortable integrated bracelet that was debuted with the inaugural Streamliner, though a slimmer case makes for a nearly perfect sized sports watch. Unlike the Flyback Chronograph, the Streamliner Centre Seconds is not limited and has a price about half that of its older sibling.

The Streamliner is a quirky integrated bracelet sports watch that is intended for the enthusiast or collector who is simply bored with the usual suspects. The distinct cushion-shaped case on the Flyback Chronograph was 42mm-wide, but this new Centre Seconds variant absolutely nails it with the proportions — 40mm -wide, 11.8mm-thick (that’s with the crystal), and while there are no real lugs to speak of, I did measure the case to have a ~39mm “lug-to-lug” height.

For a case shape like this and such an architectural and stylized bracelet, I found the sizing to be absolutely ideal for me. Oh, and the water resistance is still 120M.

As for the bracelet, my opinion is still absolutely the same as when I covered the first Streamliner:

The links of the bracelet really do resemble architectural fish scales when looking at their shape and how they taper down from the case. The wearing experience is highly comfortable and each of the articulated links allows for necessary contouring while not feeling too tight. Arm hair-tugging wasn’t an issue, either.

Everything about the bracelet seems to have the objective of seamlessness, beginning with the barely-there lugs and trickling all the way down to the folding clasp that’s adorned with the M logo. The articulating links allow for a comfort fit that’s as good as it gets, while the front of the links look totally clean and natural. Artistic, form-fitting, and immaculately done, the bracelet of the Streamliner Flyback executes a vision as well as any brand out there could.

The movement used in the Centre Seconds is understandably not the showstopper HMC 902 Flyback Chronograph, but let’s keep in mind that the Centre Seconds is priced about half as much. Here you see the in-house HMC 200 that was debuted about three or four years ago (debuting alongside the Endeavour Centre Seconds) which is something of an entry-level for the brand. Done with an 18k gold rotor, the HMC 200 features the brand’s Straumann Hairspring and operates at 21,600 vph with a 72-hour power reserve.

The H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Centre Seconds debuts with a new dial color, which the brand has dubbed “Matrix” green. The f fumé green looks great, even if it is very on-trend right now. I was initially nervous the dial would look a little too barren, but the vibrancy of the fumé along with the bracelet and almost mid-century futuristic case make for as loud of a piece as I’d want here. Side note: I actually happened to have the Pioneer Centre Seconds with their Swiss Mad red dial with me as well (see above) and now I’m really hoping for a Mad red Streamliner. Again, the H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green is not a limited edition and is priced at $21,900. You can learn more at h-moser.com.
