Episode three of the quickly evolving podcast how HourTime (starring myself and John Biggs) is now online.
We discuss some winners of the watch industry version of the Oscars, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve 2009. Winners included Richard Mille, Greubal Forsey, the Hublot Black Caviar $1 million watch, Audemars Piguet and A. Lange & Sohne.
We also discuss the watch business – what groups own what brands, how well they are doing, and like that. Then, we say a few words about Panerai, and more about how accurate watch making was so protected and why – more fascinating military and historic talk, including how Swiss watches used to be junk, while the American watches were the best. More on that topic in the next show. We end by reminiscing about our first watches.
This time we invite you to comment on HourTimeShow.com, so listen to the show and then respond.
