For the modern explorer living in a hyper-connected world, there is arguably no better tool than a GMT watch. The ability to track two separate time zones is invaluable, whether you’re jet-setting to a far-flung destination, or simply back at home and keeping tabs on friends and colleagues around the world. GMT watches allow you to take a sense of adventure with you wherever you go, and in the case of the Charlie Paris Concordia GMT, to do so with style.

The Concordia GMT is the sportiest collection in the Charlie Paris catalog and was developed specifically to meet the specifications of French explorer Matthieu Tordeur during his solo ski crossing of Antarctica. He became the first Frenchman and youngest adventurer to complete this feat in 2018, and the Concordia GMT watch is a reflection of the strength and durability needed to endure such a journey. Each Concordia GMT is designed and assembled in France and constructed of 316L stainless steel to withstand any circumstance. The case itself is 40mm wide, with a lug-to-lug distance of 47.5mm, and a thickness of 12.5mm, making for a modern and comfortable wearing experience. Inside each watch is a Swiss Soprod C125 automatic GMT movement that operates at 4Hz, has 40 hours of power reserve, and sports an Incabloc balance wheel shock absorber to handle the bumps of everyday life.

The handsome and highly legible dial of the Concordia GMT is where the watch really separates itself from other GMT watches on the market. Four colorways are available: three sandblasted finishes in matte blue, matte black, and smoked brown, as well as a special smoked green dial with bark texture to round out the collection. Each watch features a color-matched GMT hand, a date wheel at 6 o’clock, a bi-color chapter ring to denote daylight vs. nighttime hours, and a unidirectional anodized aluminum timing bezel. Super-LumiNova is generously applied to the hour markers and handset (including the GMT hand), as well as a bezel lume pip at 12 o’clock and the numeral markings on the 24-hour chapter ring to provide visibility in all conditions. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating sits atop the dial, offering superb water resistance to 300 meters and qualifying the Concordia GMT as an official ISO 6425-certified diver’s watch. Finally, a screw-down, transparent caseback allows the wearer to see the GMT movement inside with a Charlie-signed rotor. Each watch comes with a choice of either a color-matched nylon or leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet, giving the wearer a number of options to fit their own style and personality.

The Concordia GMT is the perfect harmony between the modern elegance of the Charlie Paris maison and the sporty functionality of a dual time zone watch, all in a package that is as ready-made for the Antarctic wilderness as it is for your next journey abroad. Pricing is € 1,134 for the nylon and leather strap configurations and €1,181 EUR on the stainless steel bracelet. To pre-order the watch and for more information, please visit the brand’s website
