Regardless of whether they are crafted from slices of semi-precious stones or adorned with vibrant gradient finishes, dials frequently play the starring role in H. Moser & Cie. watches. Additionally, while the Streamliner is Moser’s dedicated lineup of sports models, the brand also produces premium versions of the Streamliner that showcase precious metals, gemstones, and high-end complications. As its first new release of 2024, the Swiss manufacturer has unveiled the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade, which is a limited-edition version of the brand’s integrated bracelet sports watch that is crafted entirely from solid red gold. However, unlike previous tourbillon-equipped Streamliner models, this latest 100-piece limited edition showcases a natural stone dial made from slices of green jade, which originates from the American state of Wyoming.

At its core, the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade (ref. 6804-0406) is essentially a limited-edition dial variation of the model fitted with a Vantablack dial that was originally released in 2022. What this means is that you get the same cushion-shaped case made from solid 5N red gold that measures 40mm in diameter by 10.3mm thick, with a domed sapphire crystal above its dial that brings the overall height of the watch up to 12.1mm. Just like other Streamliner models, the new H. Moser Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade features a signed winding crown at the 3 o’clock location, along with a display-style caseback that is secured at the corners by four small screws. Since the Streamliner is Moser’s dedicated lineup of sports watches, the crown screws down to help support the 120 meters of water resistance that is offered by the collection.

From an external perspective, the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is virtually identical to its standard-production sibling that is fitted with a Vantablack dial, and this statement also applies to its bracelet. For many people, Moser’s Streamliner collection is synonymous with its distinct integrated bracelet, which offers an almost biomorphic design that blends perfectly with its rounded cushion-shaped case. Rather than being fitted with a strap like the boutique-exclusive version of the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph that debuted last year, the case of the new Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is paired with the collection’s signature integrated bracelet. For this model, the bracelet is crafted entirely from solid 5N red gold to match the rest of the watch.

The real party piece of the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is its dial, which is crafted from natural green jade that has been mined in Wyoming, USA. The jade is entirely untreated, and is cut into incredibly thin slices that measure between 1mm and 1.2mm thick before they are attached to the metal base layer that serves as the foundation of the dial. Similar to the standard-production model that is fitted with a Vantablack dial, the new Moser Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade has its one-minute flying tourbillon proudly displayed through a large circular aperture at the 6 o’clock location. However, unlike the Vantablack model that has a full set of hour markers, the stone dial fitted to the new Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade only features indexes at its cardinal points, with a double set of batons applied at 12 o’clock to help provide a better sense of orientation.

The rose gold hands fitted to the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade are identical to what can be found on the standard-production Vantablack model, with large Globolight inserts embedded into their tips. Given that the one-minute flying tourbillon can serve the purpose of a running seconds indicator, no centrally-mounted seconds hand is needed, and this helps to keep the visual emphasis of the watch on its natural Wyoming Jade stone dial. Given that the dial only has three hour markers and lacks any type of minute track, Moser’s Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is only able to provide a rough approximation of the time, although not having any printing (or even a logo) on the dial allows the natural appearance of the stone to fully take center stage.

Just like its standard-production sibling that is fitted with a Vantablack dial, the new limited-edition H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is powered by the brand’s in-house HMC 804 automatic movement. Running at a frequency of 21,600vph (3 Hz) with a three-day power reserve, the HMC 804 movement features Moser’s signature double hairspring for increased isochronism and accuracy. In addition, the HMC 804 is the same self-winding caliber that can be found inside a number of other tourbillon-equipped models from the brand’s current catalog. Just like all of Moser’s movements, the HMC 804 is finished to incredibly high standards, and it winds itself bidirectionally with a centrally-mounted oscillating weight that is crafted from solid 18k red gold to match the rest of the watch.

Despite being a limited edition of 100 examples and having a natural jade stone dial, the new H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade (ref. 6804-0406) costs the exact same as its standard-production Vantablack sibling at an official retail price of $119,900 USD. While the Streamliner is technically Moser’s sports collection, a solid gold timepiece fitted with a tourbillon and jade dial is likely the antithesis of most people’s idea of a sports watch. However, I can’t imagine that anyone buying a Streamliner (let alone a tourbillon-equipped version in solid gold) purchases one with the intent of wearing theirs as a proper sports watch, and it’s undeniable that the new Streamliner Tourbillon Concept Wyoming Jade is a rather striking and beautiful timepiece.
