In this episode of aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Ariel, Rick, and David sit down to talk about some of the most noteworthy new releases and trending stories from the greater world of watches. The trio starts the show by talking about a timepiece that has surfaced from a dark corner of history that Ariel describes as the scariest watch he has ever seen, before moving on to collectively speculating about the future of watch prices and retail availability. Rick asks the question of whether or not consumer trends may shift to the point where people are consolidating their collections and only buying grail pieces before the conversation ultimately shifts toward trying to hash out what actually classifies an individual as a watch enthusiast.

While there is no surprise guest on this week’s show, there are plenty of new releases to discuss, and Rick, Ariel, and David kick off the new watch roundup by talking about how the Richard Mille RM UP-01 Ferrari recently claimed the record for the world’s thinnest watch before getting into how anOrdain can keep up with demand for its small-batch enamel dials and whether or not the novelty of having a white ceramic watch like the new IWC “Lake Tahoe” will eventually wear off after several years of ownership. Lastly, no conversation of new releases from this past week would be complete without discussing the new Tudor Ranger, and the trio addresses the question of whether or not the new watch is actually worth all the excitement — and whether or not Tudor has officially become a Rolex homage brand.
