Big things are brewing at Brellum HQ. With the holiday season just around the corner, the popular Swiss brand that is known for producing extremely limited, eminently affordable watches is preparing to release not just a new watch that complements its existing lineup, but also a long-overdue accessory that promises to transform not one, not two, but three existing Brellum collections. As the new Brellum Wyvern 5 Days Limited-Edition Grand Sport watch prepares to join the brand’s proprietary family, the new steel bracelet from Brellum gets ready to breath new life into the established Pandial and Duobox collections.
The new steel bracelet is the brand’s pride and joy. It has been designed to fit not just the existing Pandial and Duobox range but also the Wyvern collection (as pictured throughout this article). Using solid stainless steel links, and a five-link formation that mixes link size and finish expertly, the bracelet offers a completely new aesthetic dimension for the brand. While all collections look very much at home on leather or fabric straps, the bracelet transforms the weight and visual impact of each collection, elevating it to something distinctly different, a positive new approach for the brand.
Bracelet design can often pose a significant problem for smaller, younger brands. While many consumers simply want the option of a bracelet, often with little else distinguishing about its design other than a signed buckle, settling on a design that actively embellishes the watch head takes time. Brellum has ensured that the time in designing the bracelet, which takes cues from established industry models while blending in with the current collection seamlessly, has been well spent.
Particular attention was paid to the bracelet’s comfort on the wrist, which is just as much down to the quality of finish as well as the dimensions of the links themselves. A specific link profile was developed to increase wearability. The usability of the new Brellum stainless steel bracelet is further improved by the use of a simple, single-blade folding clasp.
The new bracelet from Brellum is designed to fit wrists between 16 and 21cm (6.3-8.3″) in circumference. A precise, half-link adjustment system has been added to guarantee a snug and personalized fit. Special tools for assembly and length adjustment are included in the package.
The Brellum Wyvern 5 Days Limited-Edition Grand Sport watch will be the first watch from the brand that will be available on the new stainless steel bracelet from day one. Limited to just 23 pieces worldwide, Brellum continues its laudable commitment to affordable exclusivity with the latest model to join its proprietary caliber collection.
Caliber BR-18 is a twin-barreled, hand-wound, COSC-certified movement. The rose gold 5n-coated, the hand-decorated engine is proudly displayed through the display caseback and offers a very different view from the rest of the Brellum collection. Thanks to those two barrels, the BR-18 will keep running for a remarkable 120 hours (at 4Hz) on a full wind, with its power status displayed prominently on the dial. By opting for a hand-wound caliber, the overall thickness of the latest Wyvern model has been kept down to 13mm.
The 42mm case and the timeless dial design result in a versatile watch that has more going on beneath the surface than is initially apparent. The sunray blue dial adds a welcome dash of color to the Wyvern family, debuting the full-metal look with a bang just in time for the holiday season.
The individually numbered Brellum Wyvern 5 Days Limited-Edition Grand Sport watch with blue dial will be priced at CHF 3,690 (excluding taxes) and delivery is guaranteed for Christmas 2019.
