Since its introduction in 1994, the Omega De Ville Prestige line has been a mainstay of the brand’s lineup, offering a classically styled, dressy option to buyers at a slightly more affordable price point than its more contemporary Constellation stablemates. Omega has revisited this line for 2020, bringing a new dial concept to the existing 39.5mm models in the series. The result is a cleaner, more cohesive, and slightly more vintage look that keeps the conservative refinement of the De Ville Prestige series well intact.

The 39.5mm case of the new Omega De Ville Prestige can be optioned in all stainless steel or a pair of two-tone options, combining stainless steel with either red or yellow gold. Form-wise, these cases continue on from previous 39.5mm iterations of the De Ville Prestige line, with simple lugs, rounded case sides, and a smooth mirror-polished bezel. Omega tops these cases off with an elaborate caseback etching of its classic “Winged Chronos” logo.  The dial designs of these new De Ville Prestige models take an evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, approach to revitalizing the line. The crisp, modernist applied Roman numerals return from previous models, placed at every other hour and supplemented with minimal applied dots for a dressy, early midcentury look. Gone are the sharp dauphine hands of the previous generation, replaced with a set of softer, more elegant leaf hands. Other changes have been made for a softer overall profile here as well, ditching the sector dial concept in favor of a crisp honeycomb dial pattern and warm vintage-style railroad outer minutes track. These new dials are available in both silver and black, with silver dials featuring either gray or gold-plated hardware and black dials offering bright rhodium plated hardware.Omega powers the new De Ville Prestige with its ETA 2892-based Caliber 2500 automatic movement. Featuring the innovative Omega co-axial escapement, the brand claims a 48 hour power reserve, chronometer grade accuracy, and an intermediate 25,200 bph beat rate. In keeping with the evolutionary approach of these new models, Omega fits the new De Ville Prestige with the line’s signature polished multi-link bracelet in either steel or two-tone.With the revised De Ville Prestige series, Omega has given its classic dress watch line a shot in the arm with a more harmonious design than previous models. These new iterations are available now online and through authorized dealers with prices starting at 3,200 CHF. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
